ISLAMABAD: Pakistan had learnt of a plan by India to carry missile attacks and warned of severe retaliation, high-level sources on Monday informed senior journalist and host of Geo News’ Capital Talk Hamid Mir.

“High-level sources have informed us that there was a plan to attack 7-8 places in Pakistan from a base in Rajasthan, India,” Mir told Geo News.

The senior journalist added that after learning of this attack, Pakistan’s security agencies warned their counterparts in India that Islamabad was ready and if there would be an attack, the magnitude of Pakistan’s response would be thrice as much.

Prior to these events, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan in Parliament had announced the country’s decision to release captured Indian pilot Abhinandan.

High-level sources also informed Hamid Mir of a second attack by Indian to attack Pakistan with missiles. To foil this attack Pakistan had sent a message to India via third countries that if there was an attack there would be a strong response.

During his address in Parliament on Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan also pointed out that there were threats of a missile attack the previous night and Pakistan’s forces were fully prepared to retaliate, but the situation was defused.

Mir said at the present there was no direct contact between Islamabad and New Delhi, but indirectly there had been contact between personalities from both countries.

“High-level government sources have told us that security agencies of Pakistan and India remain in contact despite the tension. There was also contact on the night of February 27-28,” Mir added.

‘Threats of India carrying out terrorist attacks in Pakistan’
The senior journalist also spoke on his high-level government sources informing him of threats of India carrying out terrorist attacks in cities of Pakistan. Mir further said his sources had informed him that India would not cross the international border but have terrorist attacks carried out in cities of Pakistan. “This information has been shared with friendly countries,” Mir added.

The senior journalist further said that although tension had decreased, Pakistan’s Armed Forces and security agencies remained on high-alert. “The situation changed after Pakistan released the Indian pilot and Islamabad received support on the diplomatic level.”

According to Hamid Mir, first it was only Saudi Arabia, Turkey and US which were involved but over the last two days, the role of British Prime Minister Theresa May in defusing the tension had been immense.

“Friendly countries and international players have been informed by Pakistan that the country’s actions show we want peace and have given proof of this by releasing the Indian pilot and now Modi needs to take steps that show India also wants peace,” Mir said.

Speaking on the Indian dossier on Pulwama attack, Mir said the dossier did not contain any actionable evidence on the basis of which Pakistan could take action against JeM or Masood Azhar. According to Mir’s high-level sources, the government in December 2018 had decided on a plan to bring banned organisations into the mainstream.

I've had some onhand for years. Old batch expired so I bought some new ones good through 2021.

BTW: Back around 2006 when I was still a federal employee [USPS] we were all given a form to complete that authorized the agency to issue Potassium Iodide to us if it became needed. Amazingly, many employees refused to sign.

This was just about the same time the post office ran drills in four major cities where actual letter carriers practiced delivering emergency meds to households in case of a national nuclear attack or power plant meltdown. The carriers delivered plain little white dummy boxes on a Sunday; each carrier was accompanied by a uniformed police officer so people wouldn't freak out too badly when they answered their doors; the cops also did all the documentation! FYI: the drill was a resounding success and all those boxes were delivered faster than anyone expected, even with the carriers getting paid doubletime to do it on a Sunday! As I recall it was actually the DHS that ordered this drill to be conducted.

This drill was a dryrun to the dispersal protocols that will set up distribution centers nationwide to dole out food, water, fuel and meds; the drill itself was intended to see how quickly/efficiently the USPS could deliver meds to shutins who may not be able to get to the centers themselves. Apparently, similar home food/water deliveries will be handled by the National Guard.

I can also tell you about a very interesting -and little known- official USPS protocol established by JFK's infamous EO 11002. It explains why since then -and wherever possible- all postal facilities built since 1962 have TWO back or side gates that are frequently not even used. My building had three gates, but only one was used on a daily basis; the other two were kept chained/locked... with one doublewide access making no sense whatsoever, since it opened out onto the front lawn where there wasn't even a sidewalk! And NOBODY seemed to know why it was there!

As a Supervisor, Facility Security was a part of my job and one day when I inventoried all the station keys, I discovered the key was missing for that weird gate that clearly hadn't been opened in decades. I notified the Postmaster and he not only authorized me to hacksaw off the old rusty chain and replace it with a heavier one equipped with a big top-of-the-line lock [cost us about $40 for that single padlock! At his urging, I bought two]... then he told me to read EO 11002 so I'd fully understand what it was I was doing. Even my Station Manager had NEVER HEARD of EO 11002 and was shocked when I briefed her.

LOOK UP THAT EO because if the shit ever really hits the fan... every U.S. citizen that's able to do so can be required to report to their local post office! Those facility gates and parking lots are designed to pulse as many people through as fast as possible. My facility had a great setup once you took a good look at it: that parking lot could easily be turned into a processing or holding-area for about 500 people at a time. They'd come in through that weird front gate and 100' later exit through the back one where busses could easily line up to take them all... elsewhere.

One final thing: if you do read EO11002 you'll also discover that over the decades it has been ammended/expanded by still other EO's; following them is a classic federal rabbithole since they all feed off one another! And, it's what came after the original that can sometimes yield the most clout.

UMMMM, if I'm facing possible radiation poisoning, I'll be eating the steaks in my freezer and not Kelp or Seaweed which -depending upon the rad exposure levels- may not help at all.

It stops them until it doesn't. At some point, one of these countries will use them against the other.

Spirulina and cilantro are also good at removing heavy metals, just fyi. Also read that regular povidone iodine spread on your stomach is helpful. Sadly, my daughter is allergic to that.

Additionally, Lugol's iodine is helpful.

All of these are if you can't get or do not have potassium iodide.

And on nuclear anything, well, I just am fully against it. It seems to last forever. Not very good for people.
