He was a Vietnam vet and all around good man. I've never heard of such a thing. Ever... The rest of the service was pretty normal, lords prayer etc. That just hasn't set well with me since. Anyone shed some light on this? Location if that matters: East Texas. <In the Hebrew Scriptures, the word used to describe the realm of the dead is sheol. It simply means “the place of the dead” or “the place of departed souls/spirits.” The New Testament Greek equivalent of sheol is hades, which also refers to “the place of the dead.” Other Scriptures in the New Testament indicate that sheol/hades is a temporary place, where souls are kept as they await the final resurrection and judgment. Revelation 20:11–15 gives a clear distinction between hades and the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the permanent and final place of judgment for the lost. Hades, then, is a temporary place. Many people refer to both hades and the lake of fire as “hell,” and this causes confusion. Jesus did not go to a place of torment after His death, but He did go to hades.< |

Finally, how do you resolve the spiritual issue of those that were born prior to jesus and died, and were sent to "sheol"? This is a great mystery and tainted by the ages and mans interpretation. You likely won't know this answer until you're dead and on the other side. |

It's just like the heresy that God who the scriptures define as "love" would torture for ever those who don't accept Him. Nope, can be read into certain passages in the Bible, but when comparing scripture with scripture it becomes clear that's not what's being said. Organized religion has been the biggest enemy of truth, and the apostle's peter and paul even warned that his would happen in their epistles contained in the Bible. Look at the context of the chapter... Again, context involves children, babies, becoming Born Again, growing into the Body of Christ etc etc... Ephesians 4:14 "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;" Think of a baby developing... Ephesians 4:16 "From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love" It's all been hidden and that Apostles Creed sounds like total brainwashing to make sure no one figures it out!!! Come on people... the PIT IS THE WOMB...
