Only Way Trump Will Win 2020...

People won't vote for him if he doesn't gat a wall. Plain and simple. I think a lot of people think he is too old and too unpredictable, and even with a wall that will hurt him. He has to take on healthcare - no other option.

Democrats are promising to tax the ultra-wealthy. A lot of people tend to think that is a good idea. I think I read recently it is 81% of people approve that.

What do you mean? Trump won in 2016, but not by much. He has proven himself to be rather obnoxious in a lot of ways. He is old as dirt at 72 now. If he doesn't get the wall built, why would anyone vote for him?

2 things are a must or he won't be re-elected:

Even if he does get his wall built, he will have to have a next step. With democrats promising affordable healthcare for all and taxing the ultra-wealthy to bring income parity into line, how is he going to counter that? He's not. He has to beat them at their own game. That means healthcare reform. He has said several times that it is being worked on. I call BS. If it is being worked upon, we would have some hint as to what he is planning to do by now. I think he is batting that around because he signed that pharmacy bill.

Just thinking about his next move after the wall. It's all a game of chess and he has to stay 2-3 moves ahead of the dems. He's done pretty well at that so far.

Definitely. The stock market is iffy. Remember when Bush was in office and things started to slow down? When it looked like a Democrat might take office, the market crashed. We had a minor setback when the dems did well in mid-term elections. It's back up, close to highs - like 1,000 off Dow, but if it appears a dem will take office in 2020, we will again have a late summer crash in 2020. I can tell you I will not have money in the market at that time.

You've got to learn to stop using their terms, like "health care".

There's no such thing. People don't go to a doctor because their healthy. The word is TREATMENT. You go to a doctor because you broke your arm or you have pneumonia, not because you feel great.

Health care is YOUR responsibility; eating right, getting exercise, staying fit, etc.

If he want to get reelected he has to put the obvious law breakers in prison. Everyone knows who we are talking about and everyone knows what laws they've broken, yet o one even investigates it, never mind files an indictment. If people see him go through his term without lawful accountability of people- no matter their status, race, former office or position- then everyone is going to see for certain that we are no longer a nation of laws. I know that doesn't matter to a huge segment of the population, but for his supporters it is probably the single most important thing he could do.

He has to expel 20 million illegal invaders, how is that ever going to happen if he can't put one single offender away.

Have you heard what the Dems are pushing? Ask a liberal to defend what their candidates are pushing. They don't want to defend their positions and the primary season hasn't even gotten started.

The wall is a necessity, keeping the economy humming along and addressing medical/pharmaceutical pricing would also be great as well.

I do not think I would leap backwards or sideways over any of that worry. I do not think that worry will be the same concern by that time.

I am sure voter fraud was way underreported last election, especially in places like CA. I heard (not sure) CA stopped noting that a person is a non-citizen on licenses. and so there is very little way to prove whether a voter is legally allowed to vote or not.

Thumbs up to that regarding the term "health care." It is our responsibility to live a healthy lifestyle. Yet, there is a lot out of our hands. I've known a lot of people who live healthy lifestyles and still end up with chronic/critical/life-threatening diseases, and accidents which require a lot of care.

I was talking to my sister the other day, and she and her husband cannot afford medical insurance premiums. They are just one accident or disease away from financial disaster. I am 59. I would like to retire. I have money saved to retire and could easily do that with just a part-time grunt job to get me out of the house. I have great medical insurance at my job right now. I cannot retire, however, because I cannot afford the thousands of dollars I would have to pay for insurance if I did retire, being that I am 8 years away from my SS retirement age, and who knows what Congress will do in the meantime. I can afford to live, but those thousands I would pay in premiums, which would likely only pay a small portion of my medical bills (whatever they may end up being), and that is a question I cannot answer, so I must keep working.

There are a whole lot of Boomers & Gen X in that same situation. They cannot retire because of the entire "healthcare" situation in this country. Those tend to be good-paying jobs that could go to the underemployed Millennials. But the Boomers & Gen X cannot afford to give them up to retire because their health/medical care situation is a great big ? that could potentially break their entire retirement funding if they end up needing new knees, get cancer, need a bypass, etc.

Legalize Cannabis and you will not only be able to build the wall...but an elevator to the Moon also.

Regardless of whether Trump gets the wall built, why would anyone who voted for Trump in 2016 vote for any of the alternative Dems?

That's what makes this country so great - we can all have our own opinions, providing argument and counter-argument, and come to a consensus or not.

Trump will be 74 when the election is held. One can only wonder if he is elected, will he maintain his health and/or mental facilities? That's a valid point, you have to admit, especially when the average lifespan for American men is 75 years.

I voted for Trump and support him. But I, like the vast majority of Americans, would prefer that he be a little more circumspect in his Tweets and comments, especially when it comes to calling people names. It is never OK to call people names. You can pan them on their behavior - such as when Warren was talking about being Native American and using that to help get her into college - but was it necessary to call her Pocahontas? I have argued until I am blue in the face with Democrat friends and relatives who call him names, and they merely turn around and use the excuse that he does it so they can, too. Well, I am a teacher and how can you teach youth not to bully and call names when they get onto Facebook and see their parents and adult relatives and friends doing it? This makes Trump appear immature in his emotionality. He needs to knock it. He will not get respect when he does not give respect.

People are self-serving. They will vote for whatever issues impact them the most. You need to recall that a lot of Democrats and Independents voted for Trump. I'm an Independent who voted for Trump, for example, although an Independent who leans conservative.

I am living in a gated community of retired (or close to retired) white people who voted overwhelmingly for Trump. I listen to them talk. They are not thrilled with his comportment as he comes across as a spoilt child in his comments and nastiness. They would prefer someone who is more respectful. They voted for him because my area, like many others, is being over-run with Hispanics - many of them illegals. It is costing us big bucks in building new schools, hiring ESOL staff, infrastructure... They bring in other issues as well, coming from a culture that doesn't see anything wrong with drinking/driving, stealing anything that is not nailed down, etc. Their first item on the agenda was to get a wall built and get tough on immigration.


But once that happens, what is their next order of operation? Health Care. Trump is doing nothing to help working class Americans get affordable and quality medical care. While these people might not agree with abortion, how does that really impact them? It is a sin and we shouldn't have it, but healthcare impacts them and is ultimately more important.

People have a list of what is most important and they check it off when fixed and go to the next item on the list and will vote for the person who plans to fix that item.

If Trump has no plans to fix healthcare, he becomes very vulnerable at the polls.

Trump can't do everything in just 2 years. Give him time and he will bury ObamaCare once and for all. He's going to fix SS so it can't be robbed by the govt. anymore, plus he is raising the benefits. He may get all of that done this year but it's hard to say. He's fighting every day to get his agenda done. A lot of his cabinet aren't even confirmed yet!

Trump also won the popular vote when you stop to think of all the illegals and the dead people who voted for Hillary. And with all the cheating that went into that election on her behalf, she still lost! A good thing because had she won, America would be a communist boot camp by now.

No other president in history has done as much for America as Trump in his first 2 years. Google it and you'll find out exactly what he's accomplished so far.

I was an early and ardent Trump supporter. I still am a Trump supporter. Even if you add in the "voter fraud" votes, he still won by not much. Now, I've been around a long time and seen a lot of elections. It's not about knowing what the candidate is about, it is about knowing what the voters are about. Obviously, Obama won because a lot of liberals and minorities wanted a minority President who promised them a whole bunch of free stuff (of which he delivered little). They refused to look at the facts of what Obama really was - an inexperienced junior politician with a sketchy past and sketchier friends.

In a backlash against the Obama voter crowd, the MAGA voters came out in full force to vote for Trump (and against everything of the past 8 years). A lot of them didn't really know much about Trump, either. It's not like he has a great track record given his personal life and business dealings. But they wanted a wall, because the older white Americans were feeling they weren't being listened to and were being overrun by immigrants (Hispanics and Muslims, mainly), and were losing their good-paying jobs to overseas. He came in with a promise of a wall and making America great again by bringing back jobs.

So, the next President will get elected over the next big issue (given the wall will be built in some way). What will it be? I'm guessing Healthcare and income inequality. The pushback to Trump is that he has made healthcare availability and affordability worse (which he has) and that income equality is getting out of control (so, people are wanting to tax the ultra-rich).

Just wait and watch. I saw what was going on with Obama - and he got elected. I saw what was going on with Trump - and he got elected. I'll give you the next President when everyone who is running throws their hat into the race.
