Imagine if we told them what would be happening by 2019?

You do realize that they are probably alive to see it all now, no?

Wow, their brainwashing was strong in regards to population control, bombs, fear, etc. but I really enjoyed how articulate they were.

Neat video :)
 Quoting: janedoenut

Baby boomers, just a couple of years younger than I was then.

It was not brainwashing. It was realism. We were taught how to think, not what to think.
These kids were in the UK, the generation after WW2. There was still damage from WW2 there.

Atomic weapons and the threat were real. Not imagined, not brainwashing. Here in Texas, we did serious drills, even evac drills loading buses to see if the whole school could do it in under 10 minutes - with a destination away from the industrial area near and on our coast. We had supplies in the car ready to go. You see, Russia was about to put nukes on Cuba.

We knew that parts of the world were becoming overpopulated. We knew that overpopulating our own countries would create the same problems. So most of us had 2 kids. Period. To create a stable world. The powers that be however, needed infinite growth. So they have since overwhelmed us all with migrants, legal and illegal.

So, no it wasn't brainwashing.

People had hope back then, so I guess that's good - even though it was false.

US oil production peaked in the 1970s, and the US became a debtor nation rather than creditor to the world.

In 10,000 years time they will look at images of people from the early 21st century, and they will ask; why are they not all the same skin colour like we all are, why are they doing things outside in nature? The Beatles will probably still be played on the radio though.

No humans.

Some other species will likely survive, but they will be different from what we know due to all the nuclear waste and other pollution humans created.

Hundreds of millions to billions of years from now the sun, a fairly normal star, will collapse and destroy all planets in the solar system anyway.

Re: Children in 1966, discussing what they think the world would be like in the year 2000!
I was about 10 years younger, but at 5 paying a LOT of attention to the world. A few of these kids were spot on.

Pretty much everything I expected or could foresee has been true.
No flying cars.
No peace.
Still economic warfare.
Still hard to get help to those who need it because too many won't work.
Too few opportunities for many to begin work.
Religions still at each other's very throats as in the 1967 Israel war.
No real robots.
Computers still not really smart, but now getting spooky via AI/Gurgle.

One nice thing come true is a classic image of the Jetsons in the car and Judy is rockin a transistor radio that looks like an iPhone, except it has a whip antenna.

I expected there was so much money to be made by keeping many little small wars on the simmer, that became part of our economy... and the last 50 years that's what we've done.

Anyone have questions about what it was"like" in 1966, I can channel answers from 1966.

Fantastic thread, OP! Thank you!

Same as previous posters, I am struck by the contrast between these kids' intelligence and overall calm and pleasant demeanour and the neurotic children nowadays...

This speaks more clearly of the times and trends that we're currently experiencing (bleak future ahead) than any 'conspiracy' theory.
The ones who were dancing were thought to be crazy by those who didn't hear the music.

Re: Children in 1966, discussing what they think the world would be like in the year 2000!
Imagine if we told them what would be happening by 2019?

- That Britain (and most of Europe) will be like George Orwell's 1984 and that the Muslim population will be dominating them.

- That the manliest of men will change their gender and even go on to win an award for Woman of the Year.

- That liberalism is winning out.

- That the Beatles continued to turn out great music for another decade, but Queen would write even better music, as would Elton John (who you'd have to tell them wouldn't come for another decade or so), but that the Spice Girls blew up the world in the 90's and after that, England basically went into the sh*tter.

- That the atomic bomb and cold war was a farce, as was space travel.

- That there is nothing all too "futuristic" about the year 2000, and by 2019, the highest level of technology that will appeal to people will be their smartphone, otherwise known as "adult pacifiers".

- That there will be this thing called "the internet" and in researching WWII, England got proper f*cked, as did many others, by a war that should have never been.

You've honestly got to see this, it's only a few minutes long. Sad really, considering that they did approximate some things, especially about population and jobs.

The Beatles were only around another 3 years after 1966. And the work of Queen and Elton John are dwarfed in comparison. They would make their debuts within 5 years of this footage.
 Quoting: MaxHeadroomIntrusion

Dwarfed? Different time and action/reaction.

The Beatles were a VERY commercialized band and with an agenda in the 60's.

But as for Queen. They were one of the best bands ever, technically as well. Early Queen is what inspired many of your speed metal bands as a result.

As for Elton, not my favorite, but definitely produced the hits spanning 5 decades.
 Quoting: BeenHereBefore
Absolutely dwarfed, Since when do phaaags produce better music than THE BEATLES???

The inky thing I will add is that I believe we are far more technologically advanced them led to believe.

All technology goes through the secret parts of military and government that the deep state doesn't even have access too.

Area 51's of the world work on it and then leak it slowly to the world.

They are always 20 or so some odd years ahead of the curve.

You never ever ever allow the peasants proles to have access to the same technology as the elite. EVER.
 Quoting: The Do..... Man

I agree with you. However, in some ways, I could agree with such a slow-release policy of truly out-of-this-world technology.

Look at the net and smart phones, and consider the health and societal impact these two relatively innocious technologies made. Now, think if we were suddenly given free energy, teleportation, mind-to-mind communicators, anti-gravity, truly effective nootropics, and medical technology that would render us near-immortal. We don't even have to start talking about exotic weapons.

What an apocalyptic clusterfuck it would be...

it is mind blowing how intelligent, articulate, civilized and critically thinking these kids are at their age

these are the very traits in people that cultural marxism set out to destroy, starting right around the same time this was filmed, and look how far we have fallen since them

Look around, is this the end that you have foreseen?
The pain, the misery in us all
What was it that you knew?
Will we one day learn it too?
And together build another way, to the morning
Or will it ever come again?
You've poisoned all our hopes
We have nothing now, and what of the children?
What has this done to them?
Damn you for the pain that they must feel...

Queen went very commercial in the 80s.. Mercury shifted them and they began to act, sound, and behave like a farce. But I agree in the beginning they were a progressive hard rock band that was inspirational.
