When I go to my local hardware store / lumber yard, if I buy wood or concrete materials, I always ask if I can get some of the plastic sheeting out of the dumpster "to cover my load. Or I tell them I need it to protect the material when I get home. This is the fiber reinforced, plastic sheeting that covers the plywood and stuff when it is shipped. They usually let me take it. I have been known to take more than one. This is what I use to cover my firewood and stuff. Not to say that I am above buying a tarp or two, but free is an excellent price. Yep, do that too, but the wood people here are moving away from single use plastic sheeting and are using 5x2 thin plywood sheets to protect their timber during shipping. This is thrown out when the loads are unpacked and it's very handy stuff. We make all kinds of stuff from it. Use your imagination. |
