walmart is laying off 25% of their salaried members of management, they did go on a crazy assistant manager hiring spree... so im not too surprised... but managment over load was not the answer

People don’t even realize that AI is knocking on the door!

845 senior execs globally across several industries with 72 per cent believing that the increasing use of AI and robotics will dramatically reduce the number of middle managers in most organisations over the next decade.

Just wait until the mass flush of IT jobs. That will definitely hit some of the GLP folk.

3. Who are the real devils of our age? I would venture to say without a doubt it's share/stockholders. They are the quiet but demanding voice that simply because they give money to the business they expect a return which requires nickle and diming the customers to their grave. That's lovely capitalism...get everyone to pay the maximum they will for an item.

That depends a lot on the exact way the AI stuff goes. Some IT staff might well become redundant, but I think they'll always be some needed. Same as admin staff.

As to the thread, a lot of companies employ too many management anyway.

Can't cite my sources but most dev jobs will be replaced by AI as intended. Networking will be the only "viable" IT job for a good many years.

Fiverr, and companies like it, and the people who use such things are being watched...hardcore.

And believe me those developers on that website get a lot of people angry. People in high places.

Re: walmart to lay of 25% of salaried managers
Since Walmart consolidated the Sam's Club stores (basically shut down 2 stores and made everyone use 1 remaining store) it's been a nightmare. The parking lot is always completely full. The stores is laid out weird now and I just don't like how everything is rearranged. I find I don't buy as much because I don't know where things are and I don't want to invest time to walk through the new layout. I only renewed my membership because of a deal to get it half off for $25 and can use the Scan and Go app so I don't have to wait in the super long lines. If it's more in the future, I might just switch to Gordon Food Service. I'm surprised how much I like that store and no membership fees.
