I am going to move back to Houston area to our families home as soon as I relocate my big guard dog since family's older, grouchy dogs do not tolerate newcomers. Max is an affable cross of retreiver/labrador known as a goldador. 4 years old, perfectly house broken. He gets along with kids, cats and other dogs. Basically everyone unless they are on the other side of his dogrun fence. He was dumped on me by an acquantaince who got me to keep him while she closed on house and moved---that was 3 years ago and I have no idea where she is. Doesn't matter; I love this dog and am going to make sure he is ok. Max was diagnosed with glaucoma this spring and will be blind in a couple of years. He needs to go to a new home while he can still see. I need to move back in with family while I can still function somewhat. Sent with ProtonMail Secure Email. What is your state? I would gladly take your dog and have experience with both deaf and blind dogs. Dogs are my favorite people. :) I would keep your dog only until you could reclaim him. Perhaps a series of GLPers would drive him from your home to mine? I'm assuming he gets along with other dogs - I have two smaller ones - 8 lbs and 20 lbs. (OP) User ID: 77267530 United States 01/07/2019 06:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thank you so very much for the prayers and good wishes---I can feel the love pouring out as I sit here in NE rural Texas (south of Tyler/Longview area) My family is in a Houston suburb, not in city limits. Great area, strong neighborhood watch. In a quandry about Max; I cannot keep him; maybe wishful thinking to hope to be able to visit him but DO NOT want to interfere with his bonding with new owner. Asking dog trainers, animal research people, doggie shrinks to chime in with thoughts on this. Have been raising hell with politicians (in a non threatening way) hoping DOJ will act to bust up Sprint's monopoly on heart monitor companies. Hope to see as cannot pick up some talk show people discuss situation. Most in rural areas can't jump up and go to where they can get such things as heart monitoring. Please mention this concern wherever you can. If you can walk him, take him to parks that is. I had in mind a temporary situation and OP is thinking more permanent, which I could not do in Max's best interest, due to my own health. Would somebody else please step up? A good, loving, PERMANENT home, please? Thank you.
