Is it my hearing..Why do a lot of movies nowadays have ringing sounds

I've noticed it, too.

I think it's a not-quite subliminal attention grab, I notice a low vibrate tone sometimes too, like a cellphone.

If there's anything medical going on, there will be beeping, always.

I suspect they're playing on our attentiveness to such noises these days.
