The steps of the main temple under construction of the Armed Forces of Russia will only partially be made of Wehrmacht equipment, but they will not touch the museum exhibits. A member of the Patriarchal Council for Culture, Archpriest Dmitry Kalinin, announced this to the Govorit Moskva radio station.
According to him, the military defense scrap belonging to the Ministry of Defense will be sent to the smelt: broken and broken tanks, vehicles, airplanes and artillery equipment. Kalinin noted the symbolism of the use of fragments of combat vehicles in the construction and design of the temple. He noted that this does not contradict religious canons. “There will be some elements of military equipment, so that we, ascending to the church of God, remember the victory and defeated enemy,” added the priest.

On December 24, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that the steps of the future temple in Kubinka near Moscow would be made of remelted equipment of the Third Reich. Thus, the ministry wants to fill with symbolism every square meter of the temple.
