I don't see the robot arm attached anywhere to the base.
Quoting: Broomsgoat i see the shadow but i know what your saying! I have seen that on other rover selfies. Apparently it is a composite image made up of many and each time the arm was visible but in a different location and when they fit them together they can do so without the arm showing. I wondered the same and looked it up and that is the official blurb on it  How convenient, they just can't bring themselves to produce a pic that is reality based.
