Quoting: beeches but my dog died Sunday after ELM dog food. We put her down due to kidney/liver failure. it is real. She may be the first dog to die of this. I read that the FDA knows of six that were ill at least. She was 16 and had other issues, but the kidney failure was acute. And I bought the ELM in the recall. I used to make hog feed and you would be surprised how little is used...but very potent. Easy to make a mistake if your training is shit. Also I'm pretty sure that animal levels like dogs can not handle human levels. Weight would also play a huge factor. 10000 IU to a 200 pound human is nothing. 10000 IU to a 10-20 pound dog....that would be like the human took 100000-200000 IU. Not good. |

You just can't trust commercial brands foods now. And don't think "Oh...my brand is an expensive brand...There's is SAFE." Truth is MOST animal feeds comes from a few main sources and is packaged as different brands at a main distribution --that's the info I read when the 2006 massacre happened. I lost 9 thoroughbred main coon cats in that one. Really heart breaking. O'sCookie "Know ONE thing absolutely...and you will UNDERSTAND everything. I google it and found MANY pets had lost their lives due to this horrible food. I try not to feed the same thing every night. Dry kibble one night, home cooked meat w/ rice the next. Both seem to be doing better with that. Important thread The real question is, do you even doodle Bro? |

I take 20k to 50k units daily. Quoting: A Chosen 20k-50K daily is A LOT. 10K a day for healthy person is my limit for the most part usually during fall through spring if you spend a lot of time outside in the summer. I tend to go by how much you weigh. If you're PRO basketball or football players in big size, I'd suggest more vitamin D though. There are two ways to be fooled. User ID: 77029481 United States 12/05/2018 08:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is a condition called hypervitaminosis, that becomes a health issue once a recommended dosage of a vitamin supplement is exceeded The Vitamin D is surprising though. Vitamin A is very toxic from eating liver from a bear or moose, and there are a few more that are probably in this group. Animal feeds have been a problem for several years, that are manufactured off-shore especially. The quality assurance testing must be inadequate or non-existent. Quoting: RepublicofTexas Yeah, I was shocked when I started to take vitamin B2 and had only been taking it for a few weeks and luckily had a blood test done and they called me right up and told me to stop taking vitamin B2. My levels were in the toxic range. It made me feel really nauseated. I had heard it was good for memory and mood but I am very careful with vitamins and supplements now. Just because it is "natural" does not mean it cannot be harmful. Melatonin had a horrible effect on me also. Be safe everyone and nice job for taking such great care of your animals! Triteia |
