Lol, they aren't moving car production, they're eliminating car production. You people need to get a handle on what's happening and adapt rather than putting your heads in the sand and hoping someone else will solve problems.

The world is changing, period. There's no amount of government intervention or whining or crying about it that going to change The Shift. We ARE going to have self driving electric cars. You can either accept it and find a way to adapt or profit from this change or refuse to accept it and become a horse shoe maker. Transportation IS going to change. If you live in any major metro area you will quickly understand just how unsustainable the current system is. People sitting 2-4 hours a day 5 days a week in their cars is unsustainable. If you think self driving cars, massive reduction in automobile manufacturing, and all electric transportation isn't going to happen 100%, then you have no understanding of the history of technology. It doesn't matter what you think or want, technology WILL move on without you. And if you don't adapt you will be left in a situation where you cannot move around in society. And no, it's not going to take 50 years either. 50% of the cars on the road will be self driving in 10 years and I can guarantee that every single accident will find human driven cars at fault. There will simply be too much data collected at the time of accidents.

Big Box Retail is going to die, driving cars and sitting attentive behind the wheel for hours and hours in traffic is going to die.

This shit has been obviously coming for years but people always say "it'll never happen" until it does and then they're fucked because they never planned for if it did.

It is not the responsibility of Trump or the government to save businesses, that's the business' job. GM is a for profit, publicly traded corporation. Their job is to see the future and adapt their business to stay profitable. Maintaining dependence on a 120 year old technology and thinking it would never change is foolish. Those plants are closing and we do not need, nor want, the government to intervene to save the people that were so short sighted to not plan for eventualities. This is snowflake behavior and exactly the same shit as bank bailouts, and the handouts GM got a few years ago.

GM Yukon is a body on Frame vehicle and yes I agree with you. That is why I drive a big three body on frame rear wheel ( 4x4) drive vehicle. I can't stand front wheel drive. I personally loathe them cars. And it is the same with most cars today . To me mileage standards they have to be unitbody construction and front wheel drive. Dunno why. Chrysler has been building a rear wheel drive model for over a decade now.

GM's Caprice platform that is used exclusively as a police package is rear wheel drive. But they seem to think the Saudis need that car more then Americans because it is only sold there as a civilian model. You can't buy them here though . GM and Ford just don't get it. They never will.

So, now we get the same millennial snowflake socialist communist GM execs on here pleading for Tomorrowland!

I am asking GM to listen to his ideas to keep the factories going in America!

They were great. They were all American and right up there with Baseball and Apple pie. Everybody put Chevy at the very top of the list. They were the best of the muscle cars in the 60's, 70's, and 80's .... there will never be a car like any of the GMs. That is why we are so pissed off. The elite libs ruined the American icon!!!!!!!

Want to know the difference between Chevy and GMC? A friend of mine is an auto body man. From experience repairing these two, he found GMC had more bolts and screws holding the whole thing together, than the Chevy model. Such as Yukon vs Tahoe.

So how do you think that translates in an accident. I had quite a few Chevy’s and switched to GMC.

The obama bailout of GM simply prolonged the inevitable. Had obama stayed out of it, GM would have taken the beating they deserve years ago, would have restructured, and would be in a decent position today.
