There is LESS border area for electronic image stabilization to work on when filming in 4k vs 1080P which is my concern about an upgrade. I've never done any 3d stuff. I'm pretty basic and old school. So here is the thing. This new camera shoots in 4k but it does not have the hyper-smooth stabilization in 4k. It only has it with 2.7k and 1440 HD. I guess the 4k is for like tripod shots. But the 2.7k and HD is AMAZE BALLS with this hyper-smooth stabilization. I am so impressed and so in love with this camera. Also, it has voice commands and live streaming and all kinds of cool stuff. Pretty user friendly, but you still gotta play with it a little to figure out the sweet spot. ;) No more doom breaks. |

I just upgraded my GoPro Hero2 to the brand new state of the art GoPro Hero 7 Black. You guys, I've been waiting a decade for gopro to get the image stabilization right and they have done it! And the hyper-smooth image stabilization is just one great thing about it. It's basically a "smart" GoPro. I am so in love with this camera. I can't believe it is only $400 bucks. Seriously. The image stabilization is AMAZING! Very Gimbal-like! Quoting: DOOM BREAK I woke up on a sea cliff this morning on beautiful Vashon Island, Washington so I decided to shoot a little test footage. Check it out. I'll be doing an unboxing and review video soon. I didn't even shoot in 4k, just 1440 HD. Nice picture.. Beautiful view.. WA weather sssssssshuuuuuuuuuucksssss.. I love house-sitting here! I'm not crazy about the weather either. Lived here a year now and I can't believe summer is already over and another 6-7 months from now until it warms up again.
