I suppose if his goal was the Senate to prevent the passing of an impeachment, should he or would he have focused only on the Senate for the last few weeks? Wonderful. Which is why I say the Constitution has failed us as much as it has helped us. Founding Father John Adams spoke to this: "Avarice, ambition, revenge and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." What our society has nowadays are a whole SLEW of immoral and unreligious people. THAT is why propaganda is done; the people uttering it have no moral compass. So where does this leave us with the Constitution?? I feel like leaving it as is puts us in danger from people who hide behind it to subvert the nation. Having people going around on TV promoting hate and unrest isn't sustainable as we now see. The only reason we've come this far is that the corrupt media didn't feel pressured or panicked by any other President in our lifetime. The Constitution needs to be updated to prevent subversion in today's modern world. People laugh and dismiss any talk of applying treason and sedition guidelines from the Constitution, saying it's outdated and ridiculous, and inapplicable to today. We need it to be applicable to today because the country will not be saved by having faith in this Constitution. |
