Has no-one else noticed the striking similarities between Donald Trump and Harold MacMillan, British Prime Minister in the 1950's?

- Harold MacMillan inherited his father's small book publishing company (yes, "MacMillans") which he turned into a publishing colossus.
- Unlike other Conservatives, he was a very successful businessman before entering politics, going on from the world of publishing to becoming a director of the Great Western Railway.
- Harold MacMillan always presented himself as an arch-negotiator and was, indeed, good at it.
- Despite being the extreme outsider, he became, against the odd, the leader of the Conservative Party.
- Unlike other Conservative leaders, Harold MacMillan tried to reach out to ordinary working class people and created a woolly policy of "One-Nation Conservatism", a party for EVERYONE.
- Although not a gifted speaker, his actions said more for him than fine words.
- Foreign operations and military adventures were scaled down, pretty much to Zero under Harold MacMillan who concentrated on building a new post-Empire Britain.
- Harold MacMillan's first action as Prime Minister was to settle and stop the Anglo-Egyptian War and withdraw from it, although he deeply mistrusted Arab Extremists.
- Suspicious of the Europeans, Harold MacMillan shunned integration talks with Europe which was forming its own version of NAFTA at the time.
- Harold MacMillan always was keen on "Buy British"
- Harold MacMillan did his best to stem the flood of immigrants from post-war Europe at the time.
- Harold MacMillan was dedicated to the WW2 Veterans and build hundreds of thousands of homes for them. Homelessness for veterans (and for most others) was almost unheard of by the end of his time in office.
- Under Harold MacMillan, Britain boomed as never before. Unemployment went down to barely 1% and the economy expanded immensely. He was so successful, his campaign slogan became, "You've never had it so good"
- Harold MacMillan became known as "Supermac" and was adored by his supporters.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR???
