Asking for prayer for a family friend who has cancer.

I will send prayers for your friend, if you’ll send prayers for my brother in law’s mother in law who was diagnosed with cancer in liver, stomach,lymph nodes and now brain (she wasn’t feeling well and got the 2-3 months left)
Worked as a nurse and was a health nut, I guess when your number is up
There’s not much you get to say about it.

Seems like a lot of this in the last couple years....seemingly healthy people
Being diagnosed with terminal illnesses and short time left

Sometimes words are hard to find for something as devastating like this BigD. I wish Barb, her loved ones, all of you, strength, peace and togetherness in these extreme difficult times.

I know it is hard to find light in this darkness, but it is there my dear friend. In finding silence together, in finding distraction through the stories you tell each other, the memories you share, moments that made you laugh and cry together. Make this time special for Barb, but also for all of you and carry each other.

Know that I keep especially her, but all of you too in my utmost positive thoughts and prayers.

Hi bigD . . . I am truly sorry for your friend, it is a lousy way to leave this world. And understand how you and your wife are feeling. I am in this situation with two friends, and something that makes it even harder for them, is that many close *friends* are afraid to visit and spend time with them - as mine said *they're afraid of my cancer*. So it's very good of your wife to go and spend time with her old friend.

So true Sloane. I remember it from when my mom spent her last weeks in the hospital and her final days at home.

People find it hard to be confronted with such a final stage, without realizing that just being there, even if hardly anything is said, already works miracles. Through that you find comfort, peace, strength and closure together.

My best and most positive thoughts for your friends and you as well.

Praying for Barb, her family, you and your wife and all friends. May they be blessed in their time together.

My heart breaks

It is hard. I prayed with my wife this morning. She was feeling bad and was asking for strength to hold it together so she could be there for Barb! Nothing easy about it, but having emotions is being human and I consoled her that she would do fine. I also pray for your friends Sloane!

bigD: you got it. Let me tell you a quick story that happened in my family earlier this year. My 14 yr old grandson developed a tumour over his right eye. The initial quickie diagnosis by their family Dr. said it was a particular kind of tumour that was fast growing & deadly. Our whole family was in shock & in tears. Then they eventually got an MRI done which said it was not cancerous. But that this was an type of birth mark that is on the inside of the body & can grow like a tumour. We felt relief, but they still said that he would need surgery to remove it as it was pressing down on his eye. Again we became worried because the Dr's said that it was a very dangerous kind of surgery.

So I decided that this needed Divine intervention & I joined a prayer group in a church near me. We prayed for a full healing for my grandson & I prayed every night before I went to sleep. My grandson was lined up for surgery & guess what, about a month before his scheduled surgery, a miracle happened, the tumour shrunk all by itself & completely disappeared without any treatment whatsoever. He is fully healed. All thanks & glory to God for this healing. We were exctatic & over the moon thrilled with this miracle. It's been my first experience in my life with witnessing such an event.

So BigD, yes I will pray for Barb & add my prayers with all those who pray too.
