My Dog Passed Away Today

So very sorry. I lost mine a year ago. Miss her so much. I feel for your pain OP.

I am still crying over my sweet Sheba, off and on. She was my best girl for 15 years, and her passing left a big hole in my heart.
But, I was given a great opportunity to give an older little dog that everyone passed by, a good home.I called my husband from the shelter where Jewel was at, bawling my eyes out. I was already crying at every stop where I was donating Sheba's things and meds. I told my husband, who, BTW, served in the Marine Corp in California during the Vietnam Era, that this little dog was coming home with me, no matter what.
I am crying for Sheba now, as I am typing this, even though Jewel is here right next to me. Jewel is doing her best to patch up my broken heart over Sheba. When I look at Jewel, and see the joy in her eyes, and her sounds of utter contentment, I know all this was meant to be.

There is a lonely dog in a shelter somewhere, who is on death row. They are either older, not cute enough, etc, but they are waiting for you, OP. You will not dishonor the memory of your fur baby by saving another dog, you will be honoring the memory of your fur baby instead.

Its finally starting to get a bit easier today. Have been looking at adoptable dogs on the internet.

Go to the local shelters, in particular the ones with a high kill rate. You will find a dog there waiting for you.

I am so sorry your heart is broken. My dog died last year but not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. I kiss her photo every day. After she died I was a mess for several months. Wanted to go where she was. Losing her was one of the absolute worst days of my life. My heart goes out to you.

I'm so sorry for your loss - so very sorry. We're still grieving over here for our boy we lost on August 30th of this year. Last night there was a show on tv about a dog that kept getting reincarnated and trying to find his human - I bawled my eyes out again and its been over a week ago. I'm sharing this video again because this helped me very much for some reason. Sending hugs and prayers for you during this time. I'm so overwhelmed by the compassion our GLP family shows during times like this, and I'm so glad to see them stepping up again for you, like they did for me. Shoot there I go crying again. Hugs OP.
