In the service, if your married you are allowed to live off post/base. So thats what I did..

We needed furniture, so , off to the furniture store we go..

Im walking around sitting on the couches and such...Finally decide on a set with a couch, loveseat, oversized chair. Glass coffee table, two glass endtables and two lamps.

The wife and I decide on it and right then I turn around to talk to someone about buying it...

And lo and behold I turn around and staring me in the face is bill fucking clinton..

Naturally I was startled as clinton was the sitting Potus at the time...I jerked my head back a little and looked at him and said...

"Does anyone ever tell you that you look EXACTLY like the president???"

"yea (in a long southern drawl) I get that sometimes"

"hunh" I said..

He signed me a receipt handed it to me and out the door we went..

I didnt think much of it at the time until Barry came and met me years later.

I found out bill was a furniture salesman in arkansas.

Who knew.

I was homeless in pueblo, started living in a roach motel, pay by the week, where old vets and drunks go to die.

A guy shows up at like way off hours, I get a knock on my door.

There is a guy squatting down in front of my door.


I say "yes?"

He holds the steering wheel up like its the holy grail

And says. "Look what I got, A STEERING WHEEL"
