Cannabis legalization, and the results and consequences of extremely shitty parenting as presented in the OP, are two completely separate issues.

Any sane, reasonable-person just accepts that of course there should be an age restriction for cannabis use. We shouldn't have to keep covering that truth every time something like this comes up.

Where I live, parents get busted all the time straw-buying alcohol for their kids and their friends who then go drinking and driving and ending up killing someone. Sad as those examples are, I've never once immediately thought we should ban all alcohol because of a few fuck ups.
