When You Have A Hard Time Forgiving Someone....

Another idea to undo resentment is... this.

Resentment is very often in terms of attacking someone. "Having a go" at them. Trying to "break them down".

But you know, you can say things sometimes, that is against everything they've done... without attacking them.

Sort of... deflective or reflective stuff. self-reflective even. Statements...

Instead of trying to "break them down" mentally... maybe try to build them up!!!!

Make them strong enough to accept all the evil they've done. I don't know. And not making them stronger by "giving them help".

Like I said... to understand this, it requires a real transformation in the ideas used to model reality. Either you got your own mental model to make these ideas make sense, or you'll have to develop them.

Cos I can't give you the model. You'd get bored by the time I'm 1/100 of the way through.

Build them up, not break them down.

I like it. I think it's the answer. And in fact a lot of what I was doing before WAS building them up, actually, unintentionally. But it was still good.

Building up the hate vs them because I BELIEVED IN THEM... that they had to have serious amazing powers but waste them on trash because they are evil... some hidden magic space they must use to generate energy to use for evil.

That's already a belief in them, that does build things up.

A false belief, because everything they have, they stole. The "secret magical space" they have is a space they stole. They really are evil.

BUT... unintentionally... i was doing the right thing. BUILDING THINGS UP.

I need to get back to it again! But this time, do it different. Build things up, not break it down. I like it!

I don't know who "she" is but that is what my church taught. Women have no souls, in order to be saved you have to be like Christ. As in: "Have a penis".

Recently I began wondering if this were not a secret universal belief that motivated many of the changes in our culture. Certain forms of birth control that cause clotting. Diet books. Even nuclear testing.

I know some can seem heartless at times but I think they have souls.

If life is a problem to you, then you are no less a problem to life.

If you have a resentment you want to be free of,
if you will pray for the person or the thing that you resent,
you will be free.

If you will ask in prayer for everything you want for yourself to be given to them,
you will be free.

Ask for their health, their prosperity, their happiness, and
you will be free.

Even when you don't really want it for them, and your prayers are only words and you don't mean it, go ahead and do it anyway.

Do it every day for two weeks and you will find you have come to mean it and to want it for them, and you will realize that where you used to feel bitterness and resentment and hatred, you now feel compassionate understanding and love.

God give those of with these horrific background a special grace to be able to forgive. My father was a monster and his father probably was to.

I took the Lions gate of the abuse among 9 children and I was the only one to forgive him before he passed. There is no way I could have done that on my own.

Reason #583 why mudslimes don't make good earthmates.

I'm so glad this post got so many replies. I hope it has helped people forgive those who have wronged them. In this highly offensive world we live in now, it is more impotant now than ever that we learn to forgive!
