Re: Tornado
Am just about due north of you, Gooderboy, in Lexington, Nebraska.

I have been through many a near miss in my 53 years, have seen plenty of funnels, mostly F0's to F3's... except the June 3rd 1980 GI, NE. F5 was 10 miles south of there when it hit in 1980, was more or less followed back to Lincoln that night down I-80, was about 20 miles ahead of them the whole time.

They were showing some videos of one of those two twisters on the Weather Channel yesterday, made me think of you, Gooderboy, and how you and yours fared. Good to see you made it through okay.

... thanks for your supporitve info up there in Lexington, and although I've never yet seen any 'yet', I sure have seen what they can do... and yeowie! Two years ago one set down just outside of Morland (11mi due west), and then it like sorta hop-scotched its way through, and just to the very edge of town to south of us here... and and and, then just seeing the damage it did every time it touched down as it made its way through our neck of the woods... well.. as I said, "Please, oh please, no!"

And thanks again too... and I guess what really kinda got me scared was when me two kitties started up with them very scary like meowings of theirs, and cuz I had just never heard anything like that from them ever before... well... and too... then those pictures and thoughts of Greensburg also came a'floodin' in as well (and, lol, I also had a very very scared little puppy in me arms to boot)... and so then, double yeowie!... my fears were all cocked and readied, the scene outside was for sure all primed and set... and then boy oh boy did those fears of mine ever take off a'runnin' too.

... and and and hiYass... and no, lol, I'm actually a transplanted refugee from the megalopolis known as Los Angeles. And too... I got an e-mail from my brother, Wayne, up there in Grants Pass, Oregon... and after asking me if I was okay, he then asked me how we 'day to day' deal with the threat of possible tornadoes out here on the plains. And I told him, pretty much the same as we always dealt with the possible threat of impending earthquakes out there on the west coast. Only difference is though, is that we have some place for to run for protection, and we 'all' know where those places in town are too, lol. Well, and just as soon as the conditions seem right for any kinda tornado formations at all... we also have designated spotters who are out there in a heart-beat for to keep us all posted. So in a very real sense, and unlike them earthquakes, we can at least get some to plenty of forewarnings... and to me, that's like a great big humongous plus too.

Re: Tornado
I wish we would get some of those twisters our direction. I got to do some storm chasing last week, but didn't get a good look at the monster I was chasing.

Its cloudy here. All of the storms are too the south.
