Need Help Deciphering Vivid Dream

So, last night I had another in a series of very vivid dreams recently since reconnecting with a dear friend. Usually, these dreams are benign conversations. In normal settings. For example, it was my friend and I talking over coffee at her kitchen table the other night.

A few weeks ago, my dad, who's been dead for over twenty years, had a conversation with me and I got the chance to tell him how proud of him I was and still am.

However, last night this dream was different. I was with people I had never met before. They were anxious that I did not know them. One of them gave me a pristine white, very well groomed and clean, live chicken. They placed it in this little decorated box, like a treasure chest, with little holes so it could breathe.

It kept trying to get out, yet I knew I was supposed to take good care of this chicken. And not let it out.

I woke to it not being kept secure in the box, it had gotten a talon free and opened the lid.

I know one thing, this has something to do with all of the bizarre weather lately. Yet I don't know how.
