All you need to do is think about how your eyes work. Examine this, the way your eyes move very quickly around in saccades, scanning the field of vision, and your own brain is assembling the apparent stable image that you seem to see. But you are not seeing the world, you are seeing this "dream" fabrication your brain has assembled, where it fills in the blanks on it's own and so on and presents you with the illusion of reality. Just the fact that you see one image, not too, should help, as your brain also assembles both eye inputs into one coherent vision illusion. The same fabrication happens with your other senses including your thought-sense. That's just basic biology and the way our bodies work. True seekers, hardcore seekers, not people just playing at it in this living rooms so as to have something to chat on GLP about. People who give up their entire lives, become renunciates, etc. I am most familiar with buddhists, and they certainly have a good number of folk who've learned to "wake up from the dream", so to speak. Doing so is really one of the first steps along the path of self-liberation, actually, and isn't even the end goal. |
