Original VHS rip - Luke, I Am Your Father

I pulled Vader uttering "Luke" from the end of Empire Strikes Back from this clip here:

With some slight changes to tempo and pitch it seems to be a match for the "Luke" uttered in the "VHS rip" posted by OP, the only difference being the background noise/music. I didn't make any effort to filter any of that from the above clip.

I don't think you can pull a clip off of youtube to prove anything conclusively about anything, especially this.

The real litmus is to find a sealed copy of TESB from home video release on VHS, 1st edition. I would also accept Betamax or Laserdisc as long as it's the first time it was released for home video and it's sealed.

Unwrap it, put it in, forward to scene, hear "No, I am your father..." and realize you just wasted so much time arguing for memory failure over a line that was misquoted by children and comedians 1 million times in the 38 years since its release.

The above gentleman who edited the clip and claims it's original even admits he used the special edition VHS tapes from the mid 90's.

You're really holding onto that opinion aren't you, without realizing the fact that there is more than one version -- but also believe in Mandela effect enough to refute it? I'm guessing you don't like to be wrong

I don't see this being worth nearly that much effort, to be honest. A simple analysis of the audio is sufficient to me. Have fun looking for a sealed first edition VHS copy of Star Wars that you can afford though.

I suppose a laser disc would not need to be sealed as it's not recordable.

Exactly! Once the parallels intersect, all changes from the past will not be found in the future, so as much as this audible tries to project the claim of being authentic, it cant and never will be.

Most peoples' memories are screwed up regarding this due to the influence of the popular movie Tommy Boy (Chris Farley)... The scene where he's doing the Darth Vader impression/voice into the fan... He misquotes the movie...

All they did was stretch the video giving vader a second or two longer showing on the screen and then dubbed the word Luke from another point in the movie into it.

And if you want to employ this line of thinking that anything can be changed - how do you know that this toy didn't originally have the correct, original quote, but the 'mandala effect' changed it? Just as valid as your prior argument - but of course this doesn't confirm you mis-remembering the actual line from the movie...

When did it start though? I wonder if it was always happening.. Like maybe it's proof of collective consensus creating reality.

Why would Hallmark intentionally put the wrong quote into a famous SW character?
They didn't do their research? Did they too remember it incorrectly?

I have a Darth Vader electronic voice model of Vader saying Luke I am your Father from Halmark. It is a licensed toy tree ornament that was made over a decade ago. Its pure residue and it says exactly what is said on this video and its in the unmistakable voice of James Earl Jones too...
