Those poor animals don't have a choice in the matter; the people are just lazy assholes. Creeps who do this DO get caught but not often enough. They usually form up in packs when left alone like wolves do and they get food in ways similar to coyotes. They find scraps, small animals, garbage left by people, etc. Trust me they are better off with a pact that looks after them then being with an abusive owner. Quoting: Bucknutty Of course smaller dogs are pretty much screwed. I speak from experience I grew up in a big city where pacts of stray dogs were all too common back then. |

After they were all dead we threw em in the back of a pickup truck.. piss shit. Vomit etc. All over the place. After that we took em to the landfill and threw em in a hole. Better a Forrest than what I experienced. I'll never forget |

Here are their stories. Quoting: Ralph--a house dog This was from only a few hours ---there are many more dogs at that location. My grandparents live out in the country on the outskirts of a small town. People dump dogs out where they are often. They have found good homes for many and kept more than they wanted. They have networked with dog refuges and non-kill shelters in many places and sometimes travel two states over to take dogs to proper places. One abandoned Labrador Retriever was pregnant and had 11 puppies. She and all the pups had heartworm. My grandparents had to call around to many animal organizations and found most of the funding to treat them all- they paid some themselves. Once, my grandmother saw a skeletal dog in the distance. It kept inching closer. She was afraid it was diseased or maybe rabid- and would yell at it to keep it back. She went to town and bought some groceries and when she came back and had gone into the house with the first load of groceries, when she came out- she saw the torn into, empty bread sack laying on the ground and the skeletal dog was a few feet away. She then realized that the poor dog was just starving. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 76170368 United States 08/15/2018 12:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Maybe they're assholes. Maybe some of them could no longer keep the dog for whatever reason, but they didn't want to give it to a shelter because they were scared it would be euthanized. Quoting: randir14 Should find a refuge or no kill shelter and tie the dog to a post or fence on the grounds just before daybreak, if nothing better. Sometimes you'd have to drive 100 miles, but surely one could do at least that for a former pet. Spend a little gas money and give it a chance. |

Hard to believe that many have no other choice all of a sudden- a kill shelter or abandoned to the wild. |

Quoting: BremertonHardcorePunk Maybe some think it would cost them money to get rid of the animal, and they are broke. Sad shit. Some even leave animals abandoned in houses or tied up in yards. One dog in my town was found dead due to being tied up and no water. My grandmother is pretty sure that the skeletal dog that came to her house had been tied up or locked up somehow- with maybe a bit of water but no food for quite a while, then it managed to escape. |

ANIMAL FRIEND "All creatures are created from the same paternal heartbeat of God. Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission--to be of service to them wherever they require it. The horses end up integrating into the herds of feral horses. Libs like call them "Wild Mustangs." In reality, few are actual mustangs. We adopted a dog dumped out here in eleven degree cold temperature about six winters ago. Many more get dumped in the small towns. I suspect some end up as "Carne Asada" at the hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants. Bad or missing keyboard. Press F1 to continue.... |

I only know one way that I could possibly help, somewhat. Go to the animal rescue site every day and give a click. They really do help animals! Last year clicks funded the value of 56 million bowls of food for animals.
