Who recommended that Trump pick Sessions as Atty General to begin with?

This was what concerned me when it looked like Trump was going to get elected. He was not a "political" person by nature before running for President. He "glad-handed many politicians, including the Clintons, when he was a business man, but he wasn't really close to any politicians. So how was he going to pick people who would support his "vision". The GOP was ruled by "neocons", and they did everything they could to keep him from getting elected. (even now, they obstruct him on most issues he favors). The GOP placed many "plants" in Trumps cabinet and staff, that were/are loyal to the GOP.

I guess I was hoping that Sessions is really being active in pursuing things, "behind the scenes", and not telling the public every little thing he is working on, and will one day, surprise everyone with a long list of arrests. But since Trump bad mouths Sessions, that is probably not the case.
