Matthew 24 is for the Jebrews not the Church
and why were the Thessalonians freaked out thinking they missed it?
Quoting: Red John The Thessalonians were told they missed it but Paul set them straight. Paul did say that before we meet Christ some conditions must be met. 2 Thess 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;1) the Falling Away 2) The Man of Sin be revealed. Does anyone know who the man of sin is? Has the falling away completed? Quoting: Achduke7 Falling away is the fall of Rome. Man of sin appears in 538 AD; the little horn/papacy/the antichrist. Quoting: Photina I think the falling away was the lack of truth which the RCC and Rome play a hugh part in. The papacy could definitely be an antichrist but is the Pope the man of sin. The bible makes it sound as if there is only one but there have been many Popes. Maybe the last will be the worst but I do not see the RCC really having much sway over governments other than as a token gesture they all play to the Pope.
