I think the falling away was the lack of truth which the RCC and Rome play a hugh part in. The papacy could definitely be an antichrist but is the Pope the man of sin. The bible makes it sound as if there is only one but there have been many Popes. Maybe the last will be the worst but I do not see the RCC really having much sway over governments other than as a token gesture they all play to the Pope. "The Beast" in Rev 13 is Rome, the fourth terrible Beast of Daniel 7, and legs of iron in the statue in Daniel 4 which continue to the toes; the mouth of the beast/little horn is the papacy, the system of power, not any single man. John describes antichrist as anyone who denies that Jesus is the Son of God. "The antichrist" is just a name given to the Little Horn, who claims to be the vicar of Christ, the antichrist. What was that guys name again, you know, the one listening to Jesus and recording every word. Was it one of the deciples with parchment, pen and ink? How come it took that guy 300 years after the death of Christ to get all that wonderful information to the Roman emperor Constantine so that he alone could cannonize the bible and fulfill the prophecy. You know there are early bibles out there that have survived that have different books inside them than the King James version, and they're much much older. I don't know I can't trust fox, cnn, msnbc, npr, alternative media to tell me for 100% certain what happened 24 hours ago. going through the bible and debating every single word seems a bit crazy. Most people can't even follow the ten commandments yet go around cherry picking the lines of texts they want from the bible in order to tell others how to live. Ironically though, I do believe in revelations I think it is the only book in the bible that doesn't line up with the others or fit. I think revelations is a much much older text that was just tagged onto the end of the bible. It is a telling of ancient world cataclysm that happens in cycles and will happen once again.
