Re the questions of the previous poster, Mollie shares a car with her brother. Since her Mom's house is less than a mile away she could have gone there after her run, or walked there afterwards.

Supposedly she was expected to use the car to drive to work the next day.

It was her close friend at work who called her boyfriend when very reliable, punctual Mollie did not show up at work, and did not call in either. Mollie's friend then called LE. Afterwards her boyfriend called Mollie's mother.
