From the land of Healthcare employment who brought you mandatory flu vaccines ...

Today I agreed to take a travel job and have been working on the paperwork. You sign the documents online. Once you click to sign, it scrolls to the next place where the signature is needed. I have been going back and reading what I am signing.

I read a paragraph where I was agreeing to allow "The Company" to monitor my internet use, text messages, phone calls, and voice mail; and turn them over to a third party if the company felt it was necessary. WHAT???

I have not signed to agree to that. I wrote them that if they meant that I agreed to give the hospital where I would be working permission to monitor my use of THEIR internet, email, voice mail, etc while doing my job, that I did not consider that to be my property and of course they could monitor it. As far as giving the company that I will be working for permission to monitor my personal internet, email, texts, etc when I am not on the clock, that, I considered it to be an invasion of my privacy and I need some clarification.

I tried to be nice about it! I told them that I shared my accounts with my grown son and I did not have the authority to give them permission to monitor his internet activities. Hell, I don't know where he goes or what he says on the internet!

Anyway, what am I going to do? I need a job! I could give them specific numbers that I will allow them to monitor that are solely for my personal use and not my son. I would agree for only the 8 week length of the contract.

The only site that I frequent regularly is GLP. What if they think I am a racist or a homophobe? I do not like racism towards blacks or whites. I do think if you have a Y chromosome you are a Male. I don't care what your sexual preference is as long as the other person is adult and consenting; but, I don't want some perv in my bathroom. I am prejudiced against illegals. I am prejudiced against radical muslims; but, in the healthcare field, that would not effect how I do my job. If they want to know this, all they have to do is ask me, not snoop on me!

Anyway people, I am afraid this is the future of the corporate world! Looks like I might have to become one well educated burger flipper!
