I lost my father a week before Christmas in 2013. Enjoy the time you have with your family and mom as it will go by all too quickly and you'll see dear old dad soon enough. Also, Happy Birthday. It is what you make of it. |

As for the experience, you don’t know what you were missing and grew up without that bond, so there’s no sense of loss I assume, for what you never had, and no memories to make you yearn for the past. Not saying that’s good or bad, just so different. It makes me so grateful to have 54 year, which is more than most people. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76744748 Enjoy the time you have with your family and mom as it will go by all too quickly and you'll see dear old dad soon enough. Also, Happy Birthday. It is what you make of it. That is so true. and I am doing my best to treasure every moment with mom and my family while I can. I really hope more than ever before, that there is an afterlife, and that I will see him again. It gives me hope and I just wish I could feel happy again like I did when my family was still complete. I think back to my childhood, when I had grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles and people that are all gone. It’s sad as how we age, less and lesson the older relatives are in your family, until it is YOU that is the oldest. Thank you for your birthday wish too, you’re right, and I made it great. |

I wish you thank Him for what you enjoyed and remember that "Lord has given, Lord has taken... Lord be praised!" You have a peaceful and joyful anniversary (celebrating the number of living years) ... on your birthday and make every year just before of the time/day of your father passing a offering day of meal and some things for the poorest people, IN THE NAME OF THE LORD! God, please forgive your father! God, please help you to find your soul's peace and be strong in supporting your family! |

I was gonna say sorry about your loss, but you lost nothing. There is no such things as birth and death for those with souls. And duality does not exist in the spiritual void. There is no loss. |
