Having a microdisectomy on Monday. Anyone have any tips for making recovery easier?

I got injured at work in April and wound up with a 14mm disc extrusion blocking my sciatic nerve root between L5-S1. It's blocked to the point that the back of my leg all the way down to my two little toes is numb and I have little to no Achilles reflex, not to mention the substantial pain associated with nerve impingement of this magnitude. I have a limp, and have drop foot on that same side too. So, after doing nothing but trying to keep myself out of pain for the past two months-I've been put medical leave since my airline doesn't offer light duty to flight crew-they called me today and told me surgery was finally approved..for 4 days from now. So I basically got very little notice.

I'm trying to figure out what I need to do this weekend to prepare myself for all of my restrictions after surgery which are pretty extensive since I live alone and won't have anyone here helping me past Wednesday. So if anyone has any advice with their own experience or someone they maybe helped afterward, I'd appreciate it!
