It's not Portabellos..it's Agaricus mushrooms which are the white buttons most commonly found in grocery stores and restaurants. When not cooked properly they produce a chemical called "Hydrazine" which resembles rocket fuel. People have been eating them raw for years and undercooked...but what long term damage does it do is the real question. I try to avoid them and pick my own mushrooms from the forest.
