How the hell does a Smartphone still manage to still Sync the correct time in a Subway with No Service?
Like, when you're deep underground in a Subway or Metro station, and you have no 3g or 4g and no wifi

But the clock on your iPhone still carries on ticking away like normal.

It shows a consistent time.

Then when you go back to a place where there's service, no minutes are lost and it all syncs properly

If it don't use 3g or 4g and no wifi, then what does a smartphone clock use?

If you can still make a 911 call, it is connected. Also phones have internal clocks like computers so the time keeps going even without connection. It simply does not update in case of time zone change.

Smartphones are a networked now. They can throw signal to one another. Imagine all of the computer power with a highly dense area of smartphones.

It syncs the next time it gets a signal

Almost all electronic devices use a RTC to maintain time.
