The conventional wisdom is a bunch of small EQ's are good, it slowly releases pressure, as opposed to one big one. Time will tell.

In a volcanic hotspot, earthquakes are not a good sign. It typically means that magma is moving.

A detailed description of the geology and science of the main island and Kilauea and Mauna Loa was posted here last night. The potential of Hawaii being like a Mt St Helens, where a huge chunk of the flank gets blown off, is minimal.

The biggest worry is how many homes will be wiped out by lava flows. As for the mainland, the greater concern - as has long been true - is localized earthquakes.

Mauna Loa is the largest active volcano on earth. Idk, maybe all this activity spreading around is relieving pressure and reducing chances of large explosion?

It was on Dutch's earthquake video. So USGS or SEMC probably has the locations/magnitudes. I was driving and listening to his broadcast on my way in this morning.
