Two bombers can't do much anyway and no way are there nukes on board. They gotta run out of fuel eventually. ;-) Or just wait until one of those beasts has a mechanical failure and need a place to land.... welcome to Missouri! Have a nice day = GFY. GFY = Go Fuck Yourself. If this offends you then have a nice day. |

As long as they're playing by the rules everything is cool. Media fuckery at work though and being reported on by several sources. |

Nah, the Kremlin likes to test us but no way in hell would they authorize a couple of bombers to actually enter our airspace. Theyre not that crazy. |

Quoting: SilverSurfer *EDIT for THOUGHT: As several people are pointing out, it may be fairly routine, even though the article states its the first time that they're flying this close in a year. More noteworthy though, is the media trying to hype it up (Several sources reporting on this). I think its important to notice what the media is trying to do to churn this shit into more of a mess. Its typical for the media... but important for us to see what they're doing with all current events. Just another thought ;) ---------------------------------------------------- A pair of U.S. Air Force stealth fighter jets intercepted two Russian nuclear-capable bombers Friday morning off the coast of Alaska, a spokesman for NORAD (North American Aeorospace Defense Command) told Fox News. The approach by the two Tupolev Tu-95 Russian "Bear" aircraft marked the first time in just over a year that Russian bombers had flown that close to U.S. territory. Two separate defense officials reached by Fox News said the Russian bombers came within 55 miles of Alaska’s west coast. The officials requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss that portion of the intercept. The bombers entered a U.S. air-defense identification zone (ADIZ), defined as airspace extending approximately 200 miles from the nation's coastline, though mainly composed of international airspace. [link to www.foxnews.com] [link to www.kcra.com] It's enemy propaganda, so if it has roots in the US, they should be pulled out and jailed. Associated Press is a retched and evil force. |

Putin has had to purge his Generals 3 times in the last 2 years. Not sure he has any control over theses provocative acts by elements within the military. If it were down to him I think he would stop them. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 69153735 United States 05/12/2018 12:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | TU-95 is sofaking loud you don't need an alert or radar, you'll hear it coming! They have done some prop mods to some of them to quiet them down but even with the mod they are still loud! Not bad performance for a turboprop as it is not much slower than our B-52's! |

[link to www.alaskacenters.gov (secure)] How close is Alaska to Russia? Answer The narrowest distance between mainland Russia and mainland Alaska is approximately 55 miles. No news here but what many have already mentioned, fear mongering from the press. |
