Common sense is a HUGE must! Thankfully I've worked construction for over 15 years so that helps. For those who haven't, yes, common sense on how shit works is needed. That's a good tip too, people should have common tools available to them. Shovel, Hammer, Axe, Etc. I've been learning a lot of edible plants. I am in the midst of gearing up and training for some hiking/camping trails like PCT and hoping to work it into even more survival like conditions etc, and possibly take these hiking trips to other countries. So thanks for your effort in putting this list together, I'm sure I'll find a few things of worth in this knowledge bank. |

Shelter, here is a video on how to build a temporary shelter to get you through a couple nights. You can work on a main shelter after you build a small one. *At the end of the video he tells you not to sleep directly on the dirt as it will pull heat from your body, this may be common sense to some people, but to others this is a essential step, build a raised bed or lay some dry material down to get your body(ies) off the cold ground.
