No. They have been bought and paid for much longer than a generation.

The only difference now is they don't need a controlled opposition to the plan of the elite, because the internet has facilitated the waking up of enough people to form an actual opposition.

So now the controlled opposition needs to fall in line to keep their bets hedged.
