Thinking of visiting the UK....
I'm thinking of a quick trip later this month to see the UK. Thinking of Ireland and the coast, but not opposed to other points of interest. Not interested in touristy destinations, more outdoors, breweries and distilleries.

What are some must-see's across the pond?

cheers

The weather is a bit shit here until June, even then it can be shit. I like York for a weekend away sometimes.

Avoid Birmingham and anywhere inside the M25, they're all cunts.

Head down to Wales for a visit.

Lots of great beaches, castles, places like penderyn distillery.

Somerset is also nice if you like fresh off the press cider.

^^This. If you get the chance, check out Conwy castle in north Wales. Also, Edinburgh sounds just the place for you. And do take into account what AC said - the weather can be dreary here up until June.

Re: Thinking of visiting the UK....
go to Paris, take the euro star for a day trip. You need only visit 1 pub and have a pint to get the full UK experiance.

from paris take the night jet train or was it called something else and go to Venice for one day. Then Rome by train and done...

if you want you can head back to germany to hamburg. or trie and do it in october so you can do the beer fest too.

NOW THATS HOW YOU DO IT! The EU thing.

I have an ancestor that lived in Pembroke Castle for a while. That would be cool to see!

Fresh of the press cider? That sounds like a treat!

You have me thinking! The logistics, though. My wife grew up in Germany, Oberach Steinack, or something like that. (I know I butchered the spelling). I like this idea!

Re: Thinking of visiting the UK....
If you want an honest answer try Durham, You will find few places more beautiful. It is a small city with a world heritage site and what was voted the worlds most beautiful building, Durham cathedral a sunning gothic cathedral that has featured in many films including harry potter. It is a beautiful county and nowhere near London, well worth the visit for a real taste of the UK.
