Re: Trump's Appointment of John Bolton A Betrayal of Trump's Base
Trump's staffing actions are hard to figure out.

On the surface, Bolton seems like a total contradiction to Trump's stance against "stupid politician" wars since Bolton was among the 9/11 PNAC conspirators for that war.

What I've learned to do with Trump is ignore his words as much as possible, ignore his cabinet selections, and focus on his actions.

E.g., yesterday he signed a 2000-page pile of crap he didn't have to sign.

Chalk up a bad action.

EVERYONE supported the invasion of iraq in 2003.

If you disagree you're just young, stupid or delusional.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74322544

Bull. I opposed that war in 2003 and refused to vote for Bush in 2004 because of his betrayal in promising not to engage in empire building.

Trump is doing exactly what W did, promise not to empire build as a candidate and become a vociferous military industrial complex supporter as President.

Disappointing.
 Quoting: LoverofYahshua

Obama also campaigned on peace.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75816909

I'm wondering if someone who actually would be opposed to empire building just cannot get elected in this country.

Second, state specific example of President Trump "empire building". Not Bolton, Our President.

Ummm, okay. No problem.

Trump has not stopped the mindless war in Afghanistan. Instead he sent MORE troops and is continuing Obama's policy of spending more money on our troops fighting over there.

Trump has made so many belligerent remarks toward North Korea, some sort of limited nuclear conflict seems almost inevitable now, especially with war monger John Bolton at the helm now.

Trump has not stopped our empire building in any meaningful way. Instead he seems content to allow the Bush/Obama foreign policy continue unfettered.

Not what he campaigned on.
 Quoting: LoverofYahshua

Ok, you seem well-intentioned. Perhaps we're just working from different definitions of the term, "empire building".

North Korea represents a direct threat. Not just to the US. It appears President Trump's strategy will result in talks, signed agreements, and a denuclearization of Korea. Hardly an example of empire building. That's a Nobel peace prize.

Afghanistan, yes. It looks like he capitulated. Why do you think that is?

Re: Trump's Appointment of John Bolton A Betrayal of Trump's Base
I used to be a fairly ardent supporter of Trump. But now that he's appointed John Bolton as his national security advisor, I'm wondering what is going on.

Trump made it clear while campaigning that he opposed the 2003 Iraq invasion and that he wanted to stop the empire building of the USA. No more continuous invading of other countries in the name of an ill defined War on Terror.

John Bolton not only supported and still supports the 2003 Iraq invasion, but he is known to be one of the most ardent pro-war, pro-invasion, pro-empire building people in DC.

Why has Trump done an about face by appointing such a war monger when he campaigned on ending all these mindless wars????

I agree the bill he signed recently is pretty bad, but it seems everyone is so focused on that, they've missed this thing about the Bolton appointment. If John Bolton is able to shape foreign policy and persuade Trump on these issues, that seems to be a far more dangerous development.

Maybe I missed this topic being discussed here before, but I wanted to throw this out here.

Does anyone think Trump's appointment of Bolton is not only a betrayal of what Trump campaigned on but also a warning that WW3 got that much closer?
 Quoting: LoverofYahshua

Did you ever consider as you type from your little room, of what message this sends to other countries like China, Russia and goat lovers around the globe? High IQ people that have ascended to the very top of power and have access to super secret military intelligence might have a little better idea of the best strategy than you or other intergoogle warriors?

Bolton is a known war-hawk and can serve as a mouthpiece and buffer for the President. He alone commands the military. Look at the actual actions not what the "experts" say.

Is this why at 70 years old he left his life as a billionaire businessman and private jets and resorts? very real death threats again him and family, because he wanted to "con" us? LOL!

Is that why he has 91% negative coverage from every media outlet, all of hollywood, all of network tv,every print publication, European union, Mexico, Canada, countless fake sexual allegations, the CIA, FBI, DOJ and half of america?

Re: Trump's Appointment of John Bolton A Betrayal of Trump's Base

Why has Trump done an about face by appointing such a war monger when he campaigned on ending all these mindless wars????

 Quoting: LoverofYahshua

man, dont you get it??

he never was the person you thought he was. He was LYING to you the entire time. It was a con, a scam, perpetrated by a long time con man.

wake up sheeple!!
 Quoting: Joshua_Harmonic 75230421

The way unconstitutional judges, corrupt politicians, dishonest CNN, MSNBC, satanic Hollywood, complicit late night tv, authoritarian Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc...

...ALL attack and try to remove our elected President from power...

...it is quite apparent who is lying.

You're either repeating a con you heard, or, you're being intentionally misleading.

Either way, your claims are asinine.
 Quoting: Beyond Perceptions

Still in denial, even after the Cambridge Analytica story broke this week? Trump's campaign slogans and promises came from data analysis of what you wanted to hear.

...

I'd like to replace him with the Trump who promised to stop empire building.
 Quoting: LoverofYahshua

To clarify, AC is in alignment with CNN and the criminal leftists who seek impeachment. Are you?

Second, state specific example of President Trump "empire building". Not Bolton, Our President.

Remember posts just like yours about Tillerson? McMaster? Cohn? Ad infinitum...?

Wow, you used Latin. You must be really smart. why not try declining it, maybe you could go pull Wheelock out and teach us all a real lesson!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74533607

Everyone has a purpose. Perhaps yours is being so dumb that you make others look smart?
 Quoting: Beyond Perceptions

I'm not the one who needed time to go look up what Wheelock is.
