I listened to a bit here and there online. At one point, Jimmy went across to some theatre across the street and told all of the people in the Oscars theatre to say thank you to the moviegoers. It was pretty sad and pathetic. They're drowning, and I love it.

Diversity award went to 'Get Out' for best screenplay....because who can not vote for the realism of modern day folks torturing a black guy who dares come into their neighborhood.

Francis McDormand actually asked every woman nominated to stand up and clap for themselves...

To show their 'appreciation' for the common moviegoer, a small handfull of them went across the street and handed out skittles and hotdogs to a movie audience.

And because women are soooo oppressed....they ignored the 90 year tradition of having the previous years' Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor handing out the awards to Best Actress and Best Supporting actress, and had two women take the place of each normal male presenter.

When a movie about a woman fucking a fish (pardon me, MerMan) is the winner of the best film of the year = why on earth would anyone in their right mind bother watching the award ceremony for THAT bullshit!

Those of us who bother seeing movies before they hit HBO or PAY=Per=View could have told you who would win in the major categories. The Academy has lost it's footing as surely as much of America has. Time to get back to story lines, human drama, and real artistry in film. A multi-million dollar animated film becoming a franchise and supporting six or seven sequels is not my idea of "entertainment".

Frankly, there probably haven't been more than 5 good films, deserving of accolades and awards, in the past 30 years. You want entertainment? Then go watch TCM for the classics. Better yet, find an Art House Cinema near you and go watch those classics on the big screen, viewing them as they were meant to be viewed. You'll soon learn what real film and stories can do. Pity most of Hollywood seems to have forgotten those facts. If, on the other hand, you think watching the Kardashian sluts show their surgically enhanced faces, tits, ass, and twats at every opportunity, while hawking the latest bullshit venture they've swindled their way into - then by all means go ahead thinking that what they call "pop culture" is any sort of culture at all.

Why watch? Very few popular movies with audiences get nominated and they bash half the country.
