Re: The Illusion Of Free Will
Actually there is a way we can control our own life and what occurs in it. Took me many years to figure it out. It has to do with what we focus on. If we focus on what we like we get more things that we like. But don't necessarily get to pick out what that will be. Has anyone ever thought that a NEW car or house or mate would fix things only to find out that the "cost" of those desired things made them totally miserable? UGH!!! I know I have. But on the negative side. If we focus on the things we HATE we get more people places and things we HATE. That is one of the problems with the world today. Every one focuses on the people places and things they hate. And the result is on the local news every day.....

Re: The Illusion Of Free Will
We don't understand enough about it yet.

What we do understand tells us a few interesting things...

Most of the conclusions that we reach about our sensory information, are reached during the processing of the sensory data itself, before we have had a chance to consciously consider those conclusions, this pre-processing is done by layers of neural networks, each acting as a filter that looks for specific information in the sensory data as it processes it.

For example...

If I show you a very large, green balloon that is covered in white polka dots and filled with helium, you can disern all those attributes just with the act of looking, without making a single conscious thought. In fact you will disern multiple attributes at the exact same time ( not one at a time, like conscious thoughts).

It is the same for faces that you recognize, you do not consciously compare their attributes to those you remember, your neural networks do that for you. This understanding is why we now have such good image/voice recognition from artificial neural networks.

From what we can tell, some decisions are also made unconsciously and are then followed by the conscious mind making the same decision shorty after, but again we don't know how it works, we also know of situations where we go from unconscious decision to unconscious reaction, bypassing the conscious mind all together.

We are not even close to understanding consciousness or emotions, or even memory...

That is why we are constantly trying different archetecture for ai, right now I am training a3c with lstm trying to unlock the secrets of nature, because the truth is... we are just guessing.

More harken to thought/feeling receivers perhaps...

So which variable would you presume we would have any control of?

It Appears .....

a.There is a watcher, who watches over, through, out from the < A.P.S.I.>

b. There is a locality of some type of singularity of demarcation of this individual personality point.

c. This automoton persona singularity individual focal point really has no individual mind.

d. This automoton persona singularity individual is really at the mercy of being fed the next series of thougts, feelings, emotions and suggestions of input data.

e. The supposed will of the A.S.P.I. is the decision and or choice to act on the thought, feelings, emotions, and suggestions of only past input data, therefore assigning meaning or vaule behind the judgement of pre-experiencial data analysis.

f. There are never orginal thoughts Ever!

g. Should the A.S.P.I. act on a thought, that thought takes on the process to a specified result or pre-scripted pre-predicted pre-programmed controlled outcome or defined result.

h. Animals and Nature perform by the same means that we assign to call it Instinct.

i. Instinct is really a pre-defined script or type of programming of the automatons.

j. No one and No thing has nor ever will have what is mis-takening ly called free-will.

k. So-call Enlightenment is fully precieving and fully coming to terms within this transformative revelation.

l. The Truth of it was fully hidden from most automotons except for the few that were scripted to know when it was their pre-determined time-set.

m. My body consumption of food energy has changed and so-called hunger pains have not taken place until :

n. The stirring of emotional fantasy lust and sexual nature brought about the hunger pains.

Re: The Illusion Of Free Will
We are essentially variable switches driven by our thoughts, feelings, and emotions...

We cannot confirm where any of these originate yet the majority boast as if we are the creator or or originator of ideas...

Perhaps we are vessels akin to instruments.

We cannot confirm that which flows thru us is of our own accord.

Perhaps an individuals level of consciousness is a gift...

If everything is truly predestined, fate, or will of a creator, than surely we are bound to what’s given to us in every facet and aspect.

What if we are just aware, consciousness itself...

Each born to play a different tune, to play a part in the show.

Whatever we think of ourselves as ego beings can surely change in a blink of an eye given the change of emotion, circumstance or thought...

Reality is whatever we perceive it to be and what we perceive is bound to the same driving forces...

Choices are usually predetermined by the creators of an application / program , not by its users / charactors .

the script - you - are has you !!!
