It is a medically documented fact that my daughter was missing for 3 days. All that time I had at least a dozen ultrasounds.
Call me what you will, but I am speaking the truth.

How far along were you at that point?

ULS 23 years ago was not very reliable. And techs were not academically trained in scanning since no one really understood the entirety of what US could do at that point.

Just noticed... the op say "about 3 months"

That means 8-10 weeks gestational age. And because you're not sure of exact age, it's likely even younger/smaller. Size/dating was not realizable back then.

And.. Sometimes the uterus is in a position that makes scanning difficult. (Retroverted). Early pregnancies (5 weeks) can be missed even today when scanned transabdominally. And especially when the equipment 24 years ago was so poor and low resolution.

Just because they "couldnt find" her doesn't mean she was actually "gone."

It means the equipment was typically low res. And likely that the tech...and yes, even the doctors...didn't know what they were doing. Most doctors today refuse to scan because it's a very difficult med exam to perform.

And back, then, they did NOT know what they were doing. Nothing like today's scans

In my years in medical, I've seen crazy things happen. I've seen doctors mistake pelvic kidneys for "complex masses." I've seen misdiagnosed anencephalic fetus ...where the baby was actually born full term without a head and no one ...not the tech, not the doctor...caught it. I've seen twin pregnancies missed. I've seen ectopics missed. Etc, etc... And those misdiagnoses occurred relatively recently

I don't mean to offend.

I know there is a lot of unknown and mystical reasons for things...for life.

But in the medically speaking, your experience is something that can be easily explained in the medical world

.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74694658

I know exactly when I got pregnant, which was the 3rd week of April. The end of July is when the surgery took place. My daughter was full term on February 16th.I was a bit over 3 months along when I had the surgery. I had ultrasounds earlier than this stage for other pregnancies, and they clearly showed the baby.

No, we ban people who are pointless adolescent vandals and trolls.

Do you know what those words mean, little guy?
 Quoting: The Comedian :D

Im a woman. And all I said was her pregnancy sounded like a nightmare and insisting on bringing a baby into the world at the expense of her own life is somewhat inconsiderate to the child.

So no. I dont think this is all roses and sunshine and thats trolling??
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76258623

sounds like it worked out - so... your point?

yes, trolling. When you feel the need to pass negative judgement on an uplifting story, yes, that is trolling. Sounds like you are bitter and looking for someone to take it out on.

Great story, OP. Glad you held in there and got the help you and your daughter needed. I have a birth story too and I feel I got some kind of spiritual assistance during her birth, as well.

So happy your daughter got to be born and have her mom to raise her.

Re: My Daughter's Story
Id be interested to hear more about your daughter now. It sounds to me like she was chosen by God from inception.
 Quoting: docsquat

My youngest was born 1 day before the anniversary of my stillborn daughter. My youngest daughter was born with double toenails, one on top of another.
My youngest was straight A all through school, always graduated at the top of her class, even in college. She skipped a grade, and could have skipped more, but for social reasons, I felt a 1 grade jump was enough. She is an Accountant with a Fortune 500 company.

She is the kindest person you could ever meet. She puts others first, and her last. She has voluntarily helped to deliver donations to charities since she was able to walk. She was a volunteer swimming coach for younger children, since she was about 14, and a tutor and mentor. She had to give that up for her current job, but still helps out with charities. She is my right hand, and such a great helper in all respects. She never complains about anything, and never has a mean word to say about anyone. She has no enemies. Her friends cannot be numbered. Her friends come from all backgrounds, and are a bouquet of God's children.

She is not a Bible thumping religious person, but her heart is true. When 911 happened she was in 1st grade. When the news hit, the kids in her classroom were hysterical, totally frightened. The Teacher could not get them to calm down. My daughter gathered her classmates together, and they prayed. They calmed down. There were no atheists in the public school that day, and no one complained about prayers.
 Quoting: tiger1

Aww, your daughter reminds me a lot of my daughter, who is only 5 so far (about to be 6). I hope someday mine will turn out just as great, and just as successful.

I Have a little story of my daughter from before she was born. When I was pregnant with her, I told myself before going to bed one night, that I wanted to meet my daughter in a dream and see what she looks like. I believe it was that same night when I had the dream about her. She was in what felt like a class room setting, and her "teacher" (felt like a spirit guide to me) allowed my daughter to meet me. She ran up to me and gave me a big hug. She had really long, blonde/brunette hair that seemed kind of wild. That's all I remember from the dream.

Fast forward a few years to when my daughter is old enough to where I can start to see her facial features and personality coming through. Around age 3 and onward, my daughter had a big thing with giving everyone hugs. She would hug her daycare classmates, her daycares teachers, and every time I picked her up from daycare she would run up to me and give me a big hug, just like in the dream. Her hair was super fine, and broke easily with a hairbrush, and took a while to grow in, and I would always notice girls her age would have 2-3x times longer hair than hers. Her hair has always been pretty wild looking, lol. But as she's getting older, her hair is finally past her shoulders and getting thicker. I think it was due to an Iron deficiency she had when she was younger.

I had another acknowledgeable dream when I was pregnant: The night before my water broke, I had a dream that I was in the hospital sitting in a chair, hooked up to a machine with a bunch of wires. And the nurse was telling me "nothing is happening."
>>>Well, the next night at around midnight before I was about to get into bed, my water broke. But I wasn't having any sort of contractions yet. So, we weren't sure if we should just go to the hospital right away, or just wait around until contractions started? So we decided to pack what we needed, and go to the hospital. Everything I had read said that a baby needs to come out within 24 hours of water breaking. We were admitted at 3am, and by noon the next day, STILL no contractions! So I believe it was around 1pm they decided to start the Pitocin and started hooking me up to all sorts of wires. Wires to my arm, wires up where the sun don't shine.
Very similar to my dream, lol.

She ended up being born right before midnight. I had 4 hours of just pushing at the end. I realized the time, and thought about the date: 3/12/12 and realized I liked that date and wanted her to be born on that date, so I did all I could to make sure she came out before midnight, lol. I thought 3/13/12 wouldn't have felt as good.

Amazing story... and journey, you've been on. Thanks for sharing it here, reminds me of times when we used to share memories and 'happenings' with our parents and G Parents which kept bonds in famlies.

"Tiger", your name and avatar, can I ask, was this a whim, a picture you liked, or is there some other reason? Can't help getting the feeling it's something special for/to you. No worries if you don't want to say :)

Again, thanks, may the wind be always at your back ;)

Re: My Daughter's Story
now i have story :)

once me and my boyfriend were walking in the park. and he was talking about some memories that he had with a friend of his and he wasnt very happy about them. I was listenning and nodding as if i know anything..then there were some kids playing nearby and there was this old woman. and this old woman while we re passing just by said..do you have a kid naughty like this? showing us a kid probably her grandchild or something and then insisted do you have a kid. i laughed said no. and suddenly he got angry, when we just passed them a little. how dare she, he said. i said whaa? what happened? how does she know what we are going through in our lives regarding kids? what if we were a couple trying to have a kid and failing with it? what if we were a couple who wanted a kid and never be able to get one what if we were a couple with a lost kid. (ok i added that part..but to show you what he means)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76205280

Look into your heart and soul to see what the meaning is of what this lady said.

I lost a daughter to stillbirth. She would have been 44 years old tomorrow, February 17th. So I have a happy day today for my youngest daughter's birthday, but a sad day tomorrow as I remember another daughter who is not here with me.
 Quoting: tiger1

I would always have hope that you will see this child again. Jesus holds out a resurrection hope for the dead during his thousand year reign. He wasn’t doing resurrections in the Bible for nothing but to show us that he can undo the curse of death for us.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1550123

I cannot wait to meet my stillborn daughter! I have her pictured in my mind how she would look. I regret never having a chance to hold her before they took her away. She was starting to decompose, so a bunch of nurses held me down and would not let me see her before they whisked her away as soon as I delivered.I fought them like crazy and even called them some choice names, but all I saw was the placenta and the umbilical cord before they pinned me to the bed.
