well metric is easy for everything.

1mm,10mm ,100mm, 1000mm.

1000mm is a meter

10mm is a centimeter(cm)

100cm is a meter

1000ml is a liter

100cm is a meter
1000meter is 1kilometer.

its much easier and much better to understand than weird ass imperial gauge and mileage.

1 landmile is 1,6 kilometers.
yet one inch is 2,54 cm
a yard is 91,44 cm
a foot is 30,48 cm

all in all it makes no sense at all.

There are really only 7 units, they are all non dependent on anything else. The non SI units which are often confused to be SI because they are derivatives of them, like Liter, which is equal in volume to one cubic decimeter, dm3, which is a cube that is 0.1 m on each side.

I agree the metric system is fucked up. For example say you go some place that uses the metric system (most countries outside the US). You hear a forecasted temperature of 40 degrees. So you dress warm thinking it's gonna be chilly outside. Then you realize 40 degrees Celsius is over 100 degrees Fahrenheit and your burning your ass off. Also centimeters, meters instead if inches and feet can get quite confusing too.

I just wish it was one way or the other. It pisses me off working on a car and one component is metric and the next component is standard. It typically results in practically getting every damn tool out of the tool box to make a repair.

Imperial measure are based on real things, not made up things. The inch, foot and yard Mae no sense when converted to metric. But in a pinch, you can pretty well estimate that line inch is the length of the first section of your thumb, a foot will be the average size of a man's foot and a yard will he an average man's stride.

The measurements are for working with real things.

Most if not all science is measured and calculated using the metric system. The conversion between one system or the number can be done using Google and any number of apps. it's at your finger tips. No need to guess at what a liter is, google how many gallons in 1 liter. BINGO answer.

What does annoy me is having to keep on hand two sets of wrenches and sockets because fuck's like you are ignorant.

But, the Metric system is a new form of measurements. Like I said before, through out History it's been real measurements and even with the Seven Wonders.
Oh, and most can careless how science has changed the measurement system. I know it's easier for them but, who fucking cares.

The metric system is superior in every way, because it uses standardized units that are easily converted by adding or subtracting zeroes.

The Imperial system uses arbitrary units that make no sense, and require an calculator just to convert.

No self-respecting scientist would EVER use the Imperial system.

Every other country uses metric because it's superior.

Americans are just stubborn and refuse to change, because they always have to think they are better than everyone else. If America adopted metric, it would be an admission that America's system wasn't the best, and Americans have massive egos that prevent them from ever admitting they aren't the best.
