Nope not bait post. I'd have gone for one no matter what her response. It was out of respect I asked her. And I knew the baby was still up or I'd have gotten one after work on the way home.

Just seems every time I need/want a damn hour or two out of the house away from all the damn noise (literal and metaphorical) I'm getting shit about it.

Meh, I gave you green. I know your position and feel for all of you. A man needs time alone with a beer sometimes. It helps him contemplate what is next. After a hard days work you should have a beer and no reason not to have it alone. I cut down and hauled trees all day, my wife (around the corner) picked me up and dropped me off at the pub. I walked home 30 minutes later. Not only did the pub drop in do me good, the walk home did as well. I live in a small town though so that might not suit your living conditions. Cheerio!

Back in the day before the strict open container laws I worked in a hot machine shop with about a 35 min ride home.

A little county store had those old coke coolers filled with beer and the sign out front said " coldest beer in town...
I would grab one and drink in on the way home. Then I purchased (2) then (3).
When I was drinking three on the way home in 30 min I kinda had to put a stop to that but man the cold beer was good!

Alcohol is an expensive drink that makes you irrational, and not good for the body. Your wife is probably afraid since it might be that your personality chances. It is good to be a mellow guy, but if you become more emotional of violent, that is not a good effect.

Sounds like your wife does not like you drinking. So perhaps it is best for your to settle on carbonated water instead and save your liquor for the weekends keeping your alcoholism managed and low key.

My friend and I brew our own. He comes over every Thursday night to shoot pool drink beer and watch a movie.
Gotta say my wife spoils us. For dinner on Thursdays she grills steak or makes some awesome meal for us and then usually nachos or some kind of snack for us while we watch the movie.
He loves coming over. Gets him away from his home life and he can kick back and relax.
We are talking about building a still this summer as a project

My wife stopped drinking when she got pregnant. Its very rare that I have more than 3. If I do have anything to drink its 1-2 beers...maybe a glass of Scotch.
