RETAIL giant H&M has been accused of racism after using a young black lad to model a hoodie with the words “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle”.

Outraged shoppers called for a boycott of the store, branding the advert “shameful” and “offensive”.

Labour MP Kate Osamor, whose parents come from Nigeria, tweeted: “I was totally shocked, dismayed to say the very least, to find this online image.

“H&M do you think it an appropriate representation of a young black boy?”

Black New York Times columnist Charles M Blow asked: “H&M have you lost your damned minds!?!?!?!”
