Quoting: Copernica the Proud American They get their JD and then go back to Mexico and take their bar exam. Then come back on an actual visa or green card, and do whatever foreign lawyers do to get a license to practice in the states. Then they start defending other illegal immigrants. I really want to know who the asshole was that allowed work visa lawyers. -- LOL I'm actually going to research this tonight. I was just guessing on that - but now I really want to know how it works. I have a vision, that once you get the JD - Mexico just hands out the lawyer title. Then since lawyers are a white collar position - that makes it a lot easier to get visas and what not. Not just from here but from other countries. This sounds a lot like all the 'immigrant' doctors we were flooded with. India, China, Vietnam...tons of them. I asked one at the VA hospital how she became a doctor, she said, "Oh, I was already one in India, so it made it easier for me to transfer to America." It is starting to make sense now. If you find out, please let me know. I really want to know who let this happen. -- 'they' did this in Canada as well. all foreign educated and trained professionals get full credit when coming here and at most take a few courses and get fast tracking to work here. I always questioned the standards of these foreign schools and whether they were up to snuff or not? also, they push locals here out of programs so they can put minorities into the schools. it is so bad that medical schools in the Caribbean recruit white students to go there from here because local schools shun them. |

Especially, given the amount of defiance and arrogance they've shown. If someone breaks into my house, I'm not going to negotiate with them as to how much they can steal before I shoot them or call the police. We need to set our foot down. In fact, we should never have let it get this far to begin with. Lesson learned. |

How is their support fair towards the legal immigrants? Quoting: KipKat Your right! LEGAL immigrants(the only real immigrants) worked and waited for a very long time, and value their presence and contribution to our country. Ask me how I know. Illegal ALIENS - those aliens that are not legally in the country, are not immigrants. If they were, they'd have immigrant visas, green cards, or American citizenship. Calling ILLEGAL ALIENS "illegal immigrants" just confuses the issue. It's by design. |

The states and the Federal District also issue their own state licences (cédula estatal) (ibid.; Zamora 2004, 67). Mexicans who have a university degree in law do not have to pass an additional exam to be registered in the National Registry of Professionals (Mexico 26 May 1945, Art. 3). Admission to the practice of law is national, and lawyers can practise in any state (Mexico 5 Feb. 1917, Art. 121, para. IV-V). However, a lawyer must be registered with a state registry in order to charge for the work he or she performs in that state and must have an SEP licence if he or she wants to earn income in the Federal District (Zamora 2004, 67). [link to www.justice.gov (secure)] And it looks like they WOULD have to pass some level of the bar exam - it depends on which state they want to practice in. However... "There are a couple of ways to use your foreign law degree without becoming a fully admitted state bar member. One of the most common is to become a foreign legal consultant. A foreign legal consultant is, essentially, a foreign-trained lawyer who has set up a limited practice in the United States. There are foreign legal consultant rules in thirty-one states, plus the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands, so it is essential to do your research before deciding to become a foreign legal consultant. Other than becoming an FLC, there are also opportunities in some states for temporary transactional work, for pro hac vice admission to the state bar, and for foreign lawyers to be able to serve as in-house counsel, which could be very helpful for a global business. While earning bar admission would allow for the most opportunities for a foreign-trained attorney, these other opportunities to use a foreign law degree are important to understanding as well." [link to www.thebalance.com (secure)] The article emphasizes how much harder it is on foreign lawyers to become lawyers here. But if you study here - then you'd be at an advantage. It's a pretty creative way to get to the front of the legal immigration line. God Bless President TRUMP! GOD BLESS AMERICA!! |
