The Dark Crystal 2, creature design contest :ooo

loved that movie as a kid. didn't realize how dark the movie really was until just recently tho, reading a synopsis of it online. love that bit tho about the great conjunction too, where it's sometimes good, sometimes bad.

I wish they'd stop using CGI in movies nowadays too and go back to puppeteering and animatronics. (sp?)

I share all your sentiments! they only use cgi over puppets coz it's cheaper for the most part :< also easier all round... man, there is so much truth wrapped up and told beautifully through dark crystal, it feels so alive like teeming with eons of accumulated atmosphere and spirit, like it really feels like the end of a world, with a spark of life still inspiring and fighting to begin it all anew

oh man, your description of it just oozes with all kinds of warm fuzzies! I might just have to watch that again. Wouldn't that be neat to get a thread going and start watching it at the same time. Maybe manifest some essence-soaking tonics while we're at it lol
