Our beloved cat (who was 6) got kidney damage from a tainted catfood scandal over 10 years ago.

We gave him daily intervenes injections to help flush out his kidneys. He was with us for another 18 months before they gave out.

Praying for Phoebe & for you & family. You have to be strong for her & when the time comes, help her go with all the love in the world. I know how hard it is, I lost my 19yr old, Cassius to cancer. Big hugs OP

my Princess Isabella was diagnosed 2y ago and was given 2 weeks to 2 months of life... she's still here, happy and as healthy as possible for her condition. She needs fluid therapy at home (IV fluids that goes into her scruff, once a day, the equivalent of dialysis) and she doesn't mind it at all and she has a special diet of Hills K/D (Rx only). The treatment really is no difficult but you have to be constant and patient.
I suggest you to visit [link to www.felinecrf.org] it's the Bible for all of us CKD kitty parents. If you are on facebook pls join Tanya's feline CRF and Feline Chronic Kidney Disease groups, they are life savers!
If you choose not to do any treatment, you need to know that this is a long and cruel disease, you'll see her slowly waste away and suffer for months, the last part (could last 3m) is beyond horrid, lots of pain and agony, the same as humans going through kidney failure and organs shut down. My cat Oliver went through the same.April 2015 stopped eating.Problems with kidneys and got digestive enzymes.Started to eat again.In July he was so weak and slim and unfortunately put down.Unfortunately when cat stops eating it is bad sign.I lost 3 cats in the same year :( .Prayers for your cat

Do they have a cause for the issue? I wish you and your kitty the best. I remember losing our dog just after Christmas, when I was a kid. Buffy was let go on December 27, 1983. I will remember that all my days.

I pray your family will not have to go through that. I hope that there can be some kind of change that can be made that make the difference.

Your avatar looks like Phoebe did when she was a kitten. Brought a tear to my eye. She's sleeping in her basket. Going to try giving her some liquid food. Lots of Vets are closed for the holidays so it's hard to get her into a holistic one. Trying some herbal remedies and have a kidney support supplement rushing from amazon. Pets are the best until this happens and I'm usually more stoic but it's been a tough holidays this year.

I've prayed for your baby Phoebe to be healed if that is God's will. And of course for the poor creature to not suffer, no matter what happens. I've also prayed for you to be able to let go if that is what you must do.

I have several cats - yes all indoors and all healthy thank heaven! And I love each and every one of them in spite of vacuuming two times a day every day and in spite of hair balls being coughed up under the dining room table and occasionally on the silk curtains. The love they give to us far exceeds the hassle of keeping the house clean and of replacing the curtains now and then.

I know what it's like to love little animals. The can often be better companions than humans are.
