User ID: 74312488 United States 12/22/2017 10:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Am I correct in thinking that this will affect holders of coins like ETN, because when buying BTC was $18,000, but selling ETN back to BTC, they take a 30% or more hit when exchanged to USD? Example: $1000 BTC bought $1000 of ETN bought with BTC BTC falls to $500 So your ETN investment is worth half, because when you sell, it sells back to BTC? Personally, bitcoin should crash and burn, it sucks compared to others but the value of it is what gives other coins value, simply stated. I dont see bitcoin going away any time soon, this will likely present a buying opportunity for many people. Bitcoin was super bloated, its super slow, outdated, etc.. Something is going to take its place, what that is yet i haven't got an answer. Could be etherium, but probably not, could be litecoin but probably not, might even be ripple, who knows at this point. Im glad to see bitcoin come down but not at the expense of my other coins and thats the slippery slope in crypto. Quoting: Russian hacker No one has lost anything if your money is still in it. You only lose if you sell for less than what you paid. My honest opinion, it will most certainly rebound. Always does. Remember to buy low and sell high. Dont be a tard and pull your money out now if you paid 17 g for bitcoin. |

If you are just going back to USD it doesn't really matter what you a changing it out with because you will only be in it for a short time. Hopefully it won't be crashing at the moment. I would use LTC or something other than BTC to cash out if possible. Faster and cheaper. If the BTC fee somehow is too low your transaction could get stuck. |

We can't kid ourselves anymore this industry needs regulation and it needs it now because this wild west shit is going to hurt a lot of people. If coinbase doesn't destroy the market then it will bomb with bitfinex printing out endless supplies of USDT just so they can manipulate the market. so bitcoin, the magical remedy to centralized government banking, the answer to all libertarian dreams, will itself require government oversight? It is SUPPOSED to be self regulating by virtue of 100% transparency. What they didn’t think about was people throwing in the towel and cashing out totally don’t give a crap if everyone knows they are manipulating the market...they know that there’s bugger all that anyone can do AFTER the fact. Once those 1’s and 0’s have been swapped out for actual hold in your hand currency it’s too late, done is done. Someone will always find a way to game the system. Even if it does end up being regulated it’s too hard to enforce regulation. By the time you track a user/buyer/seller ID that person or group can be completely cashed out. Their complete folio of coins will be switched to liquid spendable currency and off run the newly minted millionaires (or billionaires maybe?) to some little brown skin island paradise with no extradition treaty. That crap already happens on the open market these days, crypto market will be no different if it ever makes it to the regulation stage. And watch the relulators start buying themselves new suits, leather shoes, sunglasses, watches and gold plated bum scratchers all to turn a blind eye. Fact it when it comes to $$$$$ there will ALWAYS be corruption, exploitation, winners and losers. We’re never going to have a perfect system because there will always have to be a certain amount of trust placed on individuals.
